Okay, let me just say this would have been a perfect issue if Night Thrasher wasn't in it. I loved the whole interaction between Jubilee and Jono. Also liked seeing Kaz. As far as Night Thrasher's secret plan all I can say is WTF to that and why do we need it and why is he messing with a teams head who really pretty much already show they are willing to fight. A lot more dialogue in this issue which I thought was great just NTs whole secret mystery plan is coming off stupid. Anyway the N.W.s battle the Alpha Clan and NT disappears and pulls a B.P. by revealing that some tech in their weapons allows them to go intangible when NT wants to. Jono talks about how he was gonna kill himself and Jubilee is getting all paranoid about NT. Sofia gets Doc Ock tentacles.

The entirety of Sofia's appearances were in the previews. BIG fail for me.

Still, I think this is one of the best issues of the series.

The Jubilee/Jono conversation was really nice. I'm glad to see Jono's dangling plots touched upon and Jubilee's insecurities about Thrash (who is a real big jerk btw).

I like the conspiracy angle of the series. I like how we don't really know whose funding them, what Thrash is up to, if Jono or even Phaser will turn on the group, its really beginning to be a lot of fun for me, especially when the dialogue or the mischaracterization doesn't make me cringe.

I never complained before, but as of this issue I'm jumping on the bandwagon and saying I'm really bored with those two cops. I'm skipped half of their story in the issue.

Favorite line of the issue:
Sofia: "Jubilee--!"

Way to keep a secret, girl. ;)

P.S. Art was fantastic! Best of Paco Medina I've seen (and really great colors, too!). Its interesting, its pretty, and its distinctly a Paco Medina comic and he's growing to be one of my favorites now.

Great issue. As the saying goes, curiouser and curiouser. I wonder what the big plan Thrasher is working on? I am also enjoying the plots of the side characters as they develop. I mean cops who are feeling ineffective and powerless might make great targets for someone to, I dunno, offer powers to so they can change things?

Agreed. Sofia failed at life on that one.

yeah. F*** the Police! j/k i figure that female detective is being kept around as a potential love interest for Night Thrasher. i could do without either character, to be honest. Jubilee should be leading this team.

P.S. Alpha Clan are kind of lame. i hope it's only temporary. we'll probably find out that they are funded by Donyell.

Loved the Jono/Jubilee interaction. The rest just bored the hell out of me. The art was uninspiring as well. Still a pretty weak book.

i've never seen them but another poster seemed to think that their leader was Blackwing (Joe Silvermane) from the Maggia. i thought that Joe retired. but anyways some of them looked like Zodiac ripoffs.

So they just up and move on from Sofia that quickly? With all the time they spent focusing on her in the first arc, I would've thought she'd be more of a focal character (you know, like the character whose perspective we're meant to see things from). Oh well, it is a team book after all. I wonder if they'll gleam into the other characters' lives more (like what did w/ Sofia) later on.

That's who i thought it was, at first. What happened to the new zodiac, anyway?

That would be kinda interesting.

It just occured to me that the most recently solicited issue probably relates to Kaz's discussion with Thrash this issue.

I was thinking maybe one of them was Vincente (the gassy guy).

Alert Jack Flash!

Well I was hoping for a bit more exposition for her first mission, but I was really pleased to get into Jubes and Jono's heads for a little bit.

I hope all these random things tie up together soon so that cool moments like their interaction won't be a missed opportunity in the future.

Exactly what I thought. I was like "the Zodiacs strike again! err...wait.."

I'm still so much on the fence with this book ever since Stacy X should have been Preview. :(

I just want more Redneck or whatever his name is in this one. They need to put names and boxes with face shots on the prologue page like A:Initiative.

Is it truly safe to say that Donyell has truly lost his mutant powers as well? There's been no sign of them. I guess that's a yes...

Sofia gets Doc Ock tentacles. And a forcefield.

I hope there's some sort of justification at some point for the powers people other than Jono have picked. His made sense, and I liked that, but why didn't Sofia pick a flight power?

Sofia being such a non-entity all of a sudden is kinda random considering the first few issues of this book.

Well, flight might've already been a default. I believe all of them have anti-gravity disks or a jet-pack.

I've said this in the forum for previews but will state it again here. The gear Sofia is using seems like it didn't come from Doctor Octopus but Lady Octopus, she was one of those ememies for the Scarlet spider that was an attempt at Marvel to update the villain set as well as the hero. The force field and lasers in the tentacles come from her design not Ovtavius. The link is here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Octopus

On another note if you look at this link http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/29/519px-Vulture.jpg

It appears that Blackwings flight harness is based on the Vulture, any one who has heard of the Vulturions knows what happened the last time someone stole the Vulture's tech. With all of the villains gear being used I'm wondering if a confrontation whith said villains isn't coming soon. On a related note the Official handbook of the Marvel Universe came out this week and in it there is a section dedicated to Blackwing that shows his history as well as his current power set. If anyone has it could they please scan it.

Thanks Orion, that's pretty cool that they used her tech for Sofia. :)

I don't know if we've ever seen them before, but my first thought was they were based on Hanna Barberra characters...i can pick out Space Ghost, Birdman, the Galaxy Trio, Mighty Mightor...i might be missing one or two, but that was my first impression...i guess someones watching Adult Swim...

Ha! That's awesome.

The Alphaclan has never been seen before.

Now, can anyone guess the group they pay homage to?

KG

Not going to tell you who's who. But some of the names that we used before they got pulled at the last minute were:

Fog
Kilimanjaro
Vandal
Warwing
Gravitas
Shamgar

Yeah they are based on those characters. I got a kick out of that.

You also forgot to mention that Lady Octopus made an apperance in the original Spider-girl series. :D

To me this issue is just the beginning for the new Warriors to start relearning to trust each other because most of the group have come from different points in the X-men legacy. :(
