I don't live in the Washington, D.C. area and I'm not familiar with the city's local newscasts, but I've recently gotten a kick out of watching their NBC affiliate's veteran newscaster Jim Vance. Now Mr. Vance is a veteran newscaster with more than thirty years experience, and is respected in the Washington area for his fine work as a reporter. The man also is known, however, for his great sense of humor...and for cracking up during news reports when the story is especially funny.

Here are three of Mr. Vance's best on-air crack-ups:

The tripping fashion model (http://video.nbc4.com/player/?id=35533)

Butt-related news story (http://video.nbc4.com/player/?id=103275)

A story on foul smells (http://video.nbc4.com/player/?id=103276)

According to D.C. locals, Vance loses it on the air at least once a year with these humorous stories. It doesn't get him into trouble with management, however, because local audiences love it.

I wish my local newscasts were this fun.

Jim Vance is definitely loved around this area. I don't really watch local news anymore, but we usually hear about Jim Vance cracking up about something.

George Michael is great. Changed the entire way sports was being recapped and reported. Around DC, he's called the King.
