I read it but I didn't believe it until I checked the website. Needless to say, I'll most likely be picking up the New Frontier tomorrow - looks cool.

Money is money. And what better place to advertise your comic book movie than on the website of site visited by comic book readers.

Happens all the time with the outside media stuff. Well, maybe not all the time, but often enough.

Hmmmmm, maybe we're about to witness a buyout of epic proportions. On the level of UFC-Pride. :evilsmile

it's happened before. i've seen Batman: TAS dvd ads on Marvel.com, too.
DC doesn't make the ads or buy ad space - that's what advertising companies and flacks are for.

If an advertiser is looking for a place to promote a comic related DVD release, it's as good a place as any.

Maybe since I use Firefox with Adblocker I can't see it? Which might indicate it is extraneous and not really anything to worry about?

Still can't see it. Even copying the code... Maybe my computer just hates DC?

There used to be a bunch of ads for DC DVDs in Marvel comics around the late '90s.

Not a thing that has DC. Now I am scared. I'll take screen shots and post them if I have to, if someone tells me how since I lost my own webspace (I need free picture hosting).
