For Midnighter and Dreamwar, the artists name is Lee Garbett, not Lee Garvey

Waiting for the previous volumes to pick up in sales, probably.

I used to love Wildstorm. Even after DC bought them. But now - - oye.

DC/Wildstorm has plans for its future, and I like Scott Beatty, so needless to say I'm intrigued by his Number of the Beast mini, but not enough to buy it on the spot.

I love the Wildstorm U characters still, and this creates a problem for me concerning recent publications. Do any of you harbor the same fears that Dreamwar will "Captain Atom" us and largely consist of WS characters jobbing to the DC crew in an attempt to show us how DC characters are morally and physically greater than the WS characters? I'd like to find out before I give any money to this project. I was hoping someone would ask that at Wondercon, but it wasn't mentioned. Furthermore, is it possible that I'm wrong in my interpretation of CA: Armageddon?

You're not very wrong about Captain Atom.

I look at it this way: The writer of Captain Atom didn't know a damn thing about the WSU. Not saying he didn't care or want to tell a good story, he just didn't know. Wasn't familiar with the characters and wasn't able to do them justice. He tried but didn't succeed. I think they dropped the ball editorially, but what do I know.

Dreamwar MIGHT be a little different because Keith Giffen has played in both universes. He's done WS characters(Authority and Midnighter) and he's done DC(JLI is the only one I'm even slightly familiar with...and I guess Legion of Superheroes since everyone talked about it when it was first mentioned). So I think it's going to be a little more even playing field. And if what Giffen said about him treating WS sorta like he treated the characters in Annihilation then I'm fine with it.

I was reading the most recent Comic Shop News over the weekand noticed this bullet point:

Chuck Dixon & Butch Guice are working on an alternate-history WWII book, STORMING PARADISE, for Wildstorm.

Has this announcement been seen anywhere else?

As far as I know, no. Would be really cool if this was somehow related to Number of the Beast and Dixon's Team Zero series as it seems like they were meant to be related in some way.

An in-canon WSU WWII book would be interesting, I think...
