Yeah, a humorous irony that for a self-proclaimed crusader of democracy, the U.S. would prefer to back a pro-American dictator instead of an anti-American democratically elected government, just because backing the pro-American governments even a dictatorship would serve the best interests of the U.S. What hypocrites they were.

Musharraf's a busted flush now. Quietly working with Ashfaq Kayani should be the obvious move.

this is nothing new. for the U.S. or other former world powers.

I'm very dubious about that interpretation given that Musharraf's popularity is in the tiolet and he's accomplished piss all in the way of stemming the tide of extremism in Pakistan.
