The Main Man's been quiet since his return in 52, so I was wondering if anyone knew if he has a role to play or if he's gonna show up during Final Crisis.

He's not used very often, and AFAIK he hasn't been in ANY of the big DC events.

Even a role in the Holy War (Thanagar/Rann War Pt2) would work, as he was last seen mixing with Adam Strange, Starfire and Animal Man, and being a space/cosmic character, it would make sense to put him in this storyline more than any others.

Still, I would like to see him either show up to help (in his own twisted way) or to be hired/recruited by the big baddie in Final Crisis.

Thoughts, anyone?

I personally don't like to see Lobo in "serious" stories. To me he always works best when he's off to the side a bit. In the DCU, but in some ways not really the "same" one. Ideally he'd be off in some wacky alternate in the 52-verse, but given that he's not, its just better to think of him as hanging around the outskirts rather than smack-dab in the middle of anything.

Then again, this is a DC that's pushed the likes of Animal Man and Plastic Man into main goings on. Who had a serious version of Tawky Tawny. Who have already used Lobo in a big story, if you count 52 as one. So I don't think I'll get my wish.

You know, logically you'd think he'd show up in Green Lantern/GLC.

I wouldn't be shocked. I could see Morrison bring Lobo in to kind of keep going with the religion idea he gave Lobo in 52. I want to see him in Final Crisis just to see what he has been doing since then, but at the same time, I wouldn't want or expect it to be a major role.

I'd still like for Lobo to have a "Sobek moment," where he brutally kills a hero to the surprise of the readers. It's always seemed a little insane that Lobo is a genocidal madman and yet the DC heroes tolerate him. Granted, he's supposed to be a "comedy character", but he exists in a serious universe, one where mass-murderers shouldn't be tolerated. It kind of makes the DC heroes look like complete jokes when they imprison criminals for far lesser crimes than Lobo.

I'd really like for Lobo to do something that disgusts readers and makes the DC heroes go after him.

Not only that, I'm sick of how he never is mentioned in these big crisises. I would expect that something that threatens the universe would somewhat interest Lobo and is something he would go after to prove that he's the main man in the DC Universe. I doubt someone like Lobo would just shrug his shoulders when everything in the universe may be destroyed without him wanting to take his shot at someone with that strength.

I'm sure he'll show up. His participation might not be much, but he'll definitely be there for at least one panel.

Wasn't the walls of Lobo's religion falling in though? I think they left too many questions unanswered in 52 that I would be suprised if I didn't see Lobo in it.

Could just be me.

I don't expect to see Lobo in Final Crisis. In fact, I don't want him there. Lobo doesn't work in serious stories, or at least in stories where he has to take himself seriously.

I remember once in his series, when DC's universal destruction of the year was coming down, Lobo went to Apokolips and threw a party for the end of the universe. He was kinda disappointed when it didn't go down too.
Lobo loves destruction. These Crisis must be like Christmas to him...moreso since he killed Santa and all.

Surprise? Pretty much everyone knows Lobo is the most evil bastard in the universe. Superman could walk into Justice League HQ and find Lobo eatind Aquaman and I wouldn't be surprised. I doubt Superman would be surprised either.

And keep in mind, some of Lobo's more aweful things were done while still working for LEGION. And if I remember correctly, Vril Dox actually tried to pin things on Lobo and nothing would stick. He's basically untouchable.

Lobo should go after those remaining sinestro corp members since they do have high bounty on their heads and then butt heads with guy gardner. Guy & Lobo does have a long history together , even since JLI.

That's spoken like a person without imagination. Lobo could totally be in a serious story. Then again I suppose what you mean when you say "serious".

Plus...WHAT'S ALL THIS FRAGGIN PLAYER HATIN' ON THE MAIN MAN?

(are the kids still sayin "What's all this..."?)

OH! What about the Emerald Eye of Ekron? What's up with that thing? That's interesting right?

Agreed. Lobo's kind of like the Joker, in that he finds death and destruction funny as hell. I think the perfect serious story for him would be for him to team-up with a random hero and blow their head off at the end of their story. But that's not all. He would also track down that hero's wife and kids and liquidate them. After that, he would slaughter the hero's entire family. Then, for the sheer hell of it, kill all of that hero's villains.

That would be funny to him, but it wouldn't be funny for fans of that hero--and that would be the point.

HELL YEAH he should be in final Crisis... hell he should be the CAUSE of final Crisis. Have it be another science experiment that he gives himself an "A" for.

I think you and I have different definitions of "serious".

Ex. - Some writer tries to figure out a way for Lobo to realistically team up with Batman and it's not gonna be any good, when they ought to just write a good story and stop taking themselves to "serious".

I'd actually like to see Superman-Prime get offended at him, since he never existed on his "perfect" Earth, and they just duke it out for awhile. Seriously, I'd buy ten copies of Lobo vs. SMP.

Embodiment of Fanboy Love of Tradition and Continuity

vs.

Embodiment of all suppressed Fanboy Rage, Greed and Lust.

It would be epic. More so than Monarch vs. SMP.
