Today I was doing an interview for a website and was asked who I'd cast to play my characters in a live action movie. I really never thought about it before. I didn't have a clue off the cuff like that.

So for the three of you who read Honor Brigade...who would you cast? Who can you see playing Toy Boy & Co.?

For those not familiar with the characters (read: everyone) here's a little crash course.

I'm interested to see who you guys pick.

Toyboy would totally be Patrick Warburton.

John Goodman could play the Tree guy.

Gonna disagree on Patrick Warburton for Toyboy Sally. Warburton is great but he often does a sweet kind of crazy. I see Toyboy as someone with an edgier kind of crazy....

James Roday from the USA Network series "Psych" would make a great Toyboy.

If Julia Roberts were a couple of years younger she would make a good Mystery Girl -- Roberts used to have that way of doing the 'girl next door' type that had a kind of innocence but without being stupid.

I'm tempted to say Will Farrell for Living Log

and Orlando Bloom as Lightning Rod

Yeah...not seeing it. Warburton never really plays guys who are smart or useful. Toy Boy is friggin' nuts but he's sly and effective. You're not an industrial spy long otherwise.

Will Farrell as Living Log would cause me to die happy.

How many issues is the series btw? If it is easy to track down I would totally pick it up. Maybe an omnibus.

I think I'd go with

Joe: Greg Grunberg
Sam: Ali Larter
Brody: Matt Czuchry
Slam: The Rock
Living Log: David Ogden Stiers
Toy Boy: Will Forte
Kevin: Noah Wyle
Suit: Harold Parrineau
Lightning Rod: Emile Hirsch
Adrian Conroy: Denzel Washington
Mystery Girl: Alexis Bledel

Those are some great picks. For the most part you nailed them.

Greg Grunberg is a little young for Joe though. Joe is in his 50s.

I dunno about Will Forte. Too wimpy. I'm thinking more along the lines of Luke Wilson.

And I'd probably go with a Hispanic actor to handle Slam. Rock's got the right body though.

Too bad Chris Penn is dad; he would have made a good pick for Joe.

I'll have to think about it.

I think for Joe, I'd go with some has-been from the '70s or '80s, somebody we haven't seen in a while. Like, say, Timothy Van Patten (Salami on "The White Shadow"), David Morse (Boomer on St. Elsewhere) or maybe Anson Williams (Potsie on Happy Days).

I'm at a loss for Slam. I went with the Rock because he has that indeterminate-race thing. I think you're definitely looking for a wrestler, but since I don't follow the "sport", I have no idea who is who.

My other choice for Mystery Girl is Summer Glau. I think Bledel has more of that lost waif thing going on.

I like Will Forte because he has those crazy eyebrows. He comes off as smart-crazy, unlike say Andy Samberg, who comes off as stupid-crazy. Anyway, as Michael Keaton taught us, nobody is too wimpy to play a superhero. Anybody can bulk up.
