Anyone picked these up on dvd. The first two sets are out and set #3 is gonna be out around spring. I never watched them when I was younger. I remember being bored by them, so the Idea of spending 70 bucks a set on them bothers me. How are the special features, commentaries, on the set stuff. Let me know what they are like if you have bought them.

I have the first set checked out from the library right now. Most of the bonus features are historical documentaries about the real life people Indy meets. So if you're really into the History Channel, you'd probably like them.

As for the show itself, yeah, I remember it being pretty boring as well. But the library's free, so I'll see how they are now that I'm older and realize there's more to Indiana Jones than lost arks and crystal skulls.

Huh?

They show them a lot on History Channel International if you get that channel. I watched them when I was a kid and I liked them, but I have tried to rewatch some of them on TV this year and they are horribly boring and the acting is pretty crappy most of the time.

So, If I were you, I would be very careful about plopping money down on these.

yeah.

the young indiana jones chronicles suffered from cameoitis (look who indy knew now) and really slow storytelling.

which is sad, cause the wwi story arc had some serious potential. I in particular liked the one in africa where they had to take out the german artillery train.

I found them a little dull as well and I agree with the poster who said that they suffered too much from "Look which famous historical figure Indy met".

I also really disliked the opening set-ups with "old Indy" in modern times there was something that seemed rather sad about those bits -- as if Indy had been reduced to a one-eyed, crotchety old man charicature of himself. Plus, they gave him an EYE PATCH! I can never take anyone with an eye patch seriously -- not even pirates -- it's just so silly. Particularly in today's modern times when those who have lost eyes often have a glass eye fitted. You don't see Peter Faulk running around as an eye patch wearing Columbo do you?

I've been watching these. They don't completely suck, but I'm glad I got this from the library for free. Maybe things will pick up with Indy at 16.

Some trivia about the series. It explains why Indy looks so much older in the second half of the first couple of episodes, especially the first one. (http://www.starwars.com/community/news/films/news20070830.html)

I much prefer the teen Indy episodes, some of them are pretty good. The kid ones I found pretty dull.

It would've been nice had they explored more of the backstory of the films, such as his relationship with Abner and Marion.
