Hey, I am very close to finishing y: the last man, and I havent gotten this addicted to a comic in YEARS lol... I really like Vertigo comics... and now im trying to figure out what to read next... The Invisibles seems cool, with conspiracies and the government... and then Fables sounds like a good concept ... I also heard preacher was good, but I read a little of the beginning and I donno about it, then some people say 100 Bullets is good... I HAVE NO IDEA lol.... So what I wanna ask is:
Is there any Vertigo Comic out there that is as good(that I can get addicted to easily) like Y: The Last Man? and If there is only one of the vertigo comics to pick, which would it be...?

Try Scalped. only 13 issues in and pretty damn good so far. Northlanders i hear it pretty good, only 3 or so issues in. if you want older stuff already in trade you cant go wrong with Sandman, Swamp Thing, Preacher ect. theres alot of really good, older stuff from Vertigo in trades.
Look around the forums and use the search. you can find some opinions on most books here.

I would recommend Transmet if you haven't read it already.
I'm thinking of trying Scalped out a little later myself.

Transmet is amazing. And judging from this list it's accurate enough but they got the whole 25 mixed.
Well, Sandman is a well eserved #1 from what I heard but still.
Back to Transmet, I have to say dude, the writing is extraordinary. The ending was perfect. Just try it, see if you like it.
I've actually read it just after finishing Y myself. And I gotta say. Transmet, Preacher and Y became my favorites almost instantly.

i've yet to finish Y, but i've completed some other series of the vertigo
universe, so i can definitely recommend any of the following:
transmet (you'll love spider, the main character!)
100 bullets (if you're into crime/conspiracy stories + great artwork)
fables (fairy tale schemes woven into modern new york - a must-read)
preacher (its roadmovie-crusade style is doubtlessly worth a try!)
sandman (no need to comment ;) )
lucifer (based on gaiman's lucifer - just finished the series today... awsome!)
doubledip, if i may borrow your thread (since my question is quite similar)...
according to my taste reflected by the list above, which vertigo series would you point out?
and i was wondering if there's another publisher hosting series which keep
up to the style vertigo has to offer... not "comics" but "graphic novels",
you know what i mean :)

transmet (you'll love spider, the main character!)
The Filth (Mad conspiracies and technologiesand)
100 bullets (if you're into crime/conspiracy stories + great artwork)
Casanova ( Superspies family bonds and backstabbing) Image Comics
fables (fairy tale schemes woven into modern new york - a must-read)
Hellboy and BPRD ( supernatural forces, fables and undead nazis running Amuk) Dark Horse comics
preacher (its roadmovie-crusade style is doubtlessly worth a try!)
Hellblazer by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. ( John Constantine being a bastard to his worst enemies and best mates. Truly epic storyline starting with Dangerous Habits and ending with Rake At the Gates Of Hell.
sandman (no need to comment )
Maus volume one and Two. Acme Novelty Library. Both stretch the comic book medium in revolutionary ways.
lucifer (based on gaiman's lucifer - just finished the series today... awsome!)
The Dreaming (Anthology based on Sandman supporting characters) It has its high points and a few very low points.

Dark Horse Comics, Image Comics, Oni Press and IDW have a good selection of ongoing series and graphic novels that really hold up to the quality published by Vertigo.

SWAMP THING by Moore and Veitch. You can't go wrong with either.
Preacher and Transmetropolitan are just amazing, seriously, you won't regret it and you won't be able to put either of them down. Grab them!

@ generic eric:
if you have a specific series in mind, which is published by image, dark horse
and co., and matches the style of my list, please let me know!

Sure. If you loved Transmetropolitan try Warren Ellis's precurser to Spider jerusalum in the Lazurus Churchyard GN. Fell is an ongoing series Mr. Ellis is currently Writting featuring a detective walking the beat of a less lively but equally frightening burg called Snowtown. Lastly a GN by Mr. Ellis is the story of Space travel called Ministry Of Space.
Seeing that your a fan of 100 Bullets. I recomend the series Stray Bullets for a rotating cast of intense crime drama. Queen and Country might also be of interest if you like crime stories from the point of view of government espionage and drama.
The Goon and Wormwood: the Gentleman Corpse are a couple of series that don't really follow your theme of titles. I just think they are fun.

The Books of Magic is one of the best Vertigo series, but it wasn't efficiently collected in trades like more popular titles like Preacher or Sandman.

Was Outlaw Nation any good? I almost bought Image's TPB of the entire series this weekend at Borders, but something made me hesitate.
Btw, I highly recommend The Invisibles. Great, maddening stuff there.

If mediocre stuff like God Save the Queen has made it into the list then not much!

Give me a break. Theres a ton more Vertigo out there and while GSTQ may be mediocre, I still find the art to be wonderfull.
