The time for celebrating love is over. time to give the shoutout to those marvel villains who have made their anti-mutant hatred into a lifestyle. if someone is not on the list, it's because i only had 10 poll slots to use. you'll have to do a write-in vote.

Some great options here but I'm going to give it to the leader of the Purifiers, Mattew Risman. Stryker was great, probably better, but he's dead now so onto the future...or present. In X-Force I'm rooting for a Purifier blood bath but Risman I'd like to keep around so he can keep those mutant haters going.

He's got a good distinctive look which is important in a group like the Purifiers and the combat skills to make him a threat.

true. i've only now just found out about him. he's a sniper or something. my favorite will always be Graydon because he was the first one i was introduced to. plus, he's the offspring of two popular mutants.

How could you have forget the LEPER QUEEN, Monty?? :p

she got punk'd by a monkey, didn't she? hey Leper Queen, Casey Jones called. he wants his look back! :D

Reverend William Stryker - God Loves, Man Kills is the single best X-Men story Claremont ever did without Byrne.

I'd go with Graydon Creed. I'm a '90s boy when it comes to the X-Men, so the Friends of Humanity were the big non-mutant threat at the time.

There should be no contest. Gyrich. The man IS the system. He's one of the few comic characters who can consistently piss off readers.

true but, playing devil's advocate, he doesn't specialize in mutant hatred. he's got a napolean complex about most superhumans. these other folks tend to obsess about mutants, specifically.

Stryker, hands down.

Matthew Risman sure has potential to live upon his legacy, I hope he gets to shine on X-Force.

Actually, it was Bolivar Trask who created the Sentinels. Lang stole his notes and produced a second wave.

Actually, it was Bolivar Trask who created the Sentinels. Lang stole his notes and produced a second wave.

Steven Lang received financial backing from the Hellfire Club's White King, Edward Buckman who lead the secret Council of the Chosen within the club. The Sentinels came together with a collaboration of the Us government & the Hellfire Club, although Lang's company did build the new Sentinels as you stated. The Mark III Sentinels were not as well built as the Mark II Sentinels. Buckman hoodwinked Council of Chosen member, Sebastian Shaw, the Hellfire Club's Black Bishop into believing "Project Armageddon" was about isolating the mutant gene to manufacture mutants on demand for profit via the X-Men as guinea pigs. However, when one of Lang's Sentinels attacked Emma Frost as Shaw's beach house, the mutants discovered the truth & lead a coup to defeat Edward Buckman.

See Classic X-Men #7 for details.

Hmm, this is a tough one. I think I'll have to go with Cameron Hodge though. He was just so deliciously evil and corrupt. Befriending X-Factor from the inside, and then having Warren's wings amputated, and then having Candy Southern killed was bad enough. But then he had to go all cyborg monster on the X-Men, turning Rahne and Storm into mutates, brainwashing Havok, and killing Warlock in probably one of the most heart-wrenching moments of The X-Tinction Agenda and the New Mutants series. Total badass villain.

Monty_Cristo

it's up for debate but i think Stryker is behind the most mutant deaths. and, technically, Risman wouldn't even be around if not for him.

Gyrich for intent only his incompetence keeps him from being a mass murderer.

Stryker for effect, as he succeeded in doing what Gyrich only has nasty dreams about.

Honestly my favorite mutant hater, who doesn't even hate mutants anymore, was Iceman's father in that issue a long time ago where he took Rogue to meet his parents after she had absorbed Gambit's memories and was trying to get away from the X-Men for a bit. That was a great issue.

Stryker killed his baby who was born a mutant when it was only a few minutes old and then killed his wife for giving birth to their mutant child. He also killed his most faithfulness follower without heisting when he found out she was a mutant.

Stryker is first followed by Hodge.

MarvelGirlBoy
02-16-2008, 12:23 PM
Stryker, he's all kinds of awesome-hatred.

Hodge gets marks for sheer masterfulness, fooling everyone and killing main characters, but gets severely downgraded for cyborgy yawnness.

For me it was a tough choice between Stryker and Creed, though! I love Creed! With all his suave-yet-rabid hypocritical style of mutant-bashing, and the fact that he's the human son of Mystique and Sabretooth, and the fact that he looked so damn evil.

ToxicTeen
02-16-2008, 01:25 PM
Graydon Creed because he hates mutants even though he's from a family of mutants. Oh the irony! :D

And William Stryker gets some points too because he truly believes that mutants are demons and he is doing "God's work".

The thing that cracks me up in Creed is that both of his parents are mutants, with very usefull powers to pass to their children and the guy ends up with nothing! Not a thing! No wonder he hates mutants!
The guy isn't just a baseline human he's a looser. Homo Sapiens Geneticis Lotery Looserus! I bet his genes come in the "L" shape.

i will say this for Graydon. he's a loser because he let his mother make him feel inferior because of his lack of an x-gene. but, in every other way, he's a success. he was a successful businessman. he had a hot girlfriend (who was royalty). he nearly got elected president. Victor and Raven should have been proud. and i think it's pretty obvious that he desperately wanted to be a mutant. it's why he joined the Upstarts competition.

and i just realized that i left Ahab/Rory Campbell off the list...

See, the problem with most of these guys is that they let their hate blind them. Gyrich is a total hater, but he's on low simmer. He never goes away and will always successfully twist things in the direction of his agenda. Pierce was around for a good while, and I might have voted for him, but he's been downgraded to attacking Jr. X-Men. Plus, he dared to touch Tessa. Points off for that.
