I think ellis did an outstanding job with the ultimate hulk.
Ellis like miller has taken the ultimate hulk to a whole new level.
with this ability of his to adapt and evolve with every attack,i think the ultimate hulk is going to be an unbeatable monster.
i would like to know everyone opinion on how this new ability would help the hulk in the future.

I've seen abilities like that before. It doesn't make him unbeatable. The ability to adapt and evolve to any attack works fine for the most part, but it can still be bypassed if you can take him out with the first shot of a particular kind of attack.

Sounds to me like they decided to just turn him into doomsday.

it's a great power boost for the ultimate hulk that ellis decided to make him like doomsday.this means the ultimate hulk can never die,he will always adapt and evolve to survive anything.:D

I dunno about that. I made the doomsday comparison but I have no idea if the hulk can also come back from the dead like doomsday does. Unless it's stated that the hulk can do the same, i'd assume that any attack that is powerful enough to kill him will keep him dead.

i guess it's too early to say how this new ability is going to work in the hulk's favor.

umm....
As far as I am concerned, yes, very much so. As far as others are concerned, no.
A recent storyline happened that ended with peter and mj making a deal with the devil to save aunt may (who his stupidity nearly killed), that had the effect of retconning the last 20 yrs of spider-man history. So peter and mj never got married, harry osborn is still alive and god knows what else was changed. As for how this will fit in with the other marvel comics, that we'll learn about over the next few months I guess.
As far as I am concerned, this POS story has killed Spider-Man. Spider-Man 616 no longer exists in my eyes and what we have left is basically the bastard love-child of the 616 Spidey and Ultimate Spidey. Other who like the story, naturally disagree. If you want some more info, check out the spidey forum and you can decide for yourself what the changes mean.

that's one of the reasons i don't read any 616 comics anymore, the stories r just too full of foolishness.
world war hulk was terrible, the hulk had a huge sword and never used it on anyone except a bunch of aliens on a spaceship.
i can't stand reading anything 616,just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.

I understand the feeling. Admittedly I have found the FF books okay lately.
Personally I am hoping they rectify the things that I hate in the next year or two. So basically fix Spider-Man, bring back Captain America, get rid of Extremis in Iron Man.... well if they do that i'd be pretty happy. In the case of Spider-Man, as it stands I'm done with him for good and won't buy another one of his books again. With Cap, I'll continue reading til around issue 50 or so and if they don't bring Cap back, i'll be done with that too. Admittedly the book is great now, but as far as I am concerned there is only one captain america and i won't buy a book that claims to be CA when it's in fact bucky. As for Iron Man... well I don't like extremis but i won't totally write tony off because of it.

I buy almost all the ultimate series stuff in trade format. I have most of USM and UXM in that format and Ultimates 1 and 2. UFF is the one book i actually buy individual issues of.
As for the Ultimates 3, I hear it's bad but I know i'll want to read it when it comes to trade.
I'm also looking forward to Ult Human though.

mark miller is a brilliant and imaginative writer, the ultimates is a masterpiece creation.
i have both volumes, and i can't see myself insulting those volumes by even thinking about buying ultimates 3
i'll bypass ultimates 3,and ultimates 4 if written by loeb.
i had my doubts about ellis, but he's doing a splendid job on ultimate human, and hopefully marvel picks him to take on the ultimates sometime in the near future.

I gave up on the 616 a few years back, Mackie's run on Spider Man and all that... oddness with the X Men. Picked up the first couple of trades of Ultimate Spider Man and never looked back.
For all it's faults nowadays (So-so Ultimates 3, Robert Kirkman) the Ultimate line still seems fresher, funnier and generally more entertaining than I remember Marvel being in years. Long may it continue.

Oh yeah, except for Runaways. Keep on running!
....What are the Hulk's powers now? Is this because of Stark's nanobots?
And where's the Nananananana Leader?
...I miss the Simpsons.

stark and co put banner in a pressure chamber to monitor his transformation.
the pressure in the chamber was the same as the atmosphere on venus.
when he transform they found out he was adapting and evolving to survive the pressure, and when he broke out, they used the serum on the hulk that they used in the ultimates to transform him back into banner.but, they found out he was adapting to the serum too.
i was checking out wikipedia on doomsday.
it seems he adapts, but i don't seen anything about evolving.:D

This is one of those powers you have to be careful with. Does it mean the Hulk can adapt to any situation or that his healing factor and sheer toughness are enough? For instance could he survive in space?
Even then it is no gurantee of victory. Darwin in WWH had it and his power teleported him away from the hulk instead of giving him the strength to fight the Hulk.
As for Doomsday, he has this power if not greater. Adapt and evolve are essentially the samething. The only difference is adapt typically means only temporary while evolve means long-term.
Doomsday had the latter. His strength level after Supes first killed him reached a level beyond even the powered-up Superman. And after that he only got stronger.
But this power is not a safeguard from death. Imperilax killed DD by reducing him to a skeleton and leaving nothing to evolve from. Doomsday was returned to life, but apparenty lost this ability when his dna was combined with that of an average kryptonian.
Even then, a writer could say there is a limit to how far the Hulk can evolve or that certain great powers are simply beyond the ability to evolve.

adapt could also be long term.
anyway, the ultimate hulk doesn't have limitless enegry like the regular hulk.
so i'm hoping marvel doesn't do a cop out on the ultimate hulk adapting and evolving ability.
