When I was younger, I HATED Stroman's work....with a passion. Over the years, I grew to really love and appreciate...the exact same X-Factor issues I hated before.
This looks great!

I'm not sure I understand the significants of the crow's feet on either of their faces.. Are they 40 something now? Because I can't think of to many African's who have crow's feet marks on their faces in their late 20's mid 30's or whatever. The art is nice though.

Save Storm from Hudlin? Uhh is anyone actually reading this because I've read the last few issues and she hasn't actted out of any sort of character that any crap or fantastic writer of the last 10 years has written her. Look we all get it, you guys don't like that Storm is not with the X-benches, and that she is actually starring along side another underused but solid African character for results that are both thought provoking, funny and all around unique in terms of what the characters normally experience in their drab lives.
Yes, Hudlin maybe using the book to promote his own agenda, but its usually one involving the promotion of a group of people who to say the least are without a identity. (and that's just to glance over all the real underlining issues.) So yeah, it's hard to read a book that doesn't bring you're classical Storm, the one that can be mocked easily do to on going jokes about her sexuality, on going jokes based on her lack personality, and so on. It kills me that Storm prior to Hudlin had no real interest in anything related to her people back in Africa or even adopted community of African Americans considering that unlike the rest of her team of X-Men she was freaking worshiped, respected, & loved. Yet she couldn't get passed freaking helping mutants across the world. Yet people back in her homeland are starving to death, struggling with diseases, lack of education, technology and homes. Poverty stricken people who Storm could have damn welled helped with just half the stuff she learned back in the States. Black Panther does what he can for as many people as he can I'm sure but damn.
So Hudlin has Storm and BP in space, jumping from alternate dimensions and so on, so friggin what. Storm was not that big a part of the X-Universe that she couldn't leave it without it crumbling. All this hate sounds like nothing more then petty selfishness. "Ahh, we wanted Storm to stay in the X-Books and be that token African chick, who everyone scores on. It helps feed out fantasies."

Agreed.
It's not like Storm sleeps with all the X-men. Do I want her back w/ the X-men? Yes, I do. Do I want her only in the X-men? No, I loved her in FF for the most part. Hudlin can't write her to save his life. His stories are silly, trite and the way he depicts her personality is off. I wish he had read some back issues. It's obvious he has not. I just wish he was more consistent and portrayed Storm as both a powerful black woman that has universal appeal and someone that is aware of more than he's depicted. That's what made her great before. Now it's like he has to dumb her down every few issues to make a point or something. It's sad.

To clarify.
I'm a huge fan of both characters.
I have read Hudlin's Black Panther (i have read #1-24) i gave it a fair chance to improve. It didn't. I don't care for the way he writes Storm or the Black Panther.
If you want to read a thought provoking interpretation of the character (and well written T'Challa/Ororo interaction), then read Christopher Priest's Black Panther run.
And for the record my objection has nothing to do with me wanting Storm back in the X-Titles, i would be very happy to see her in well written Black Panther title. I enjoyed her and T'Challa's appearances in Fantastic Four.
Nor does it have anything to do with any kind of fantasy, on account of me being gay and all.

Great points! Storm has been ignored in the X-titles for years. Her bright spots being in CC's X-treme X-men, McDuffie's FF series and recently in Hudlin's run(past 3 issues). I found it interesting that the charges that she has been written out of character is purely Hudlin's fault--laughable--I beg to differ, she has been written one dimensionally for years by those who shall remain nameless.
Since CC's departure, she has been written as a token. Emma moves in--No reaction from her--written by any current author in the X-titles. This woman is/was Storm's archenemy. Curious.
Also, Bishop co-founded the XSE with Storm, and I have yet to read any stories dealing with Storm's feelings about the matter. You would think she would have been showcased dealing with the aftermath of Messiah Complex or Xavier's murder. Is that Hudlin's fault??
She was away, chilling with T'Challa in Africa, one might say. But Wolverine was l over the show (his own title and such) and he still found the time to lead X-force. As a matter of fact these are the X-teams Wolverine is a member of-- Astonishing X-men, Uncanny X-men, And X-force..not to mention, New Avengers, Wolverine and X-force, thats 1 mutant in 6 titles.
I think the Black Panther title should be changed to THE PARAIAHS--
Then it could feature Storm, Black Panther, Darwin, Prodigy, Cecilia Reyes, Thunderbolt III, Red Lotus, Evangeline "Vange" Whedon, Lifeguard, SlipStream, and every other character cast to the winds.

Before she was moved to Black Panther, Claremont had been writing her for five or six straight years. So was that time a bright spot or was she being misused? You should make up your mind on that one.

There was a reaction to Emma, and Claremont wrote it.

No but don't assume it's the fault of the X-Men writers. She was pulled out of the X-Men by Quesada and Alonso--not by the writers. They even had a big press conference about it.

I haven't seen those polls, but sales talk. Wolverine sells books on name alone. Storm doesn't. She may be well-liked and perhaps even approaching iconic in terms of recognition, but she doesn't push the numbers.

Back to the Stroman art, his splash page with the Iron Men was great. That was the best I have seen Iron Man look in a long time.
