Greeting fight fans! Welcome to our first semi-final match!

In the first corner we have Flâneur & Toboe's Brides of Wakanda:
Meggan, Northstar, Hellion, M, Nocturne

Operation: Primrose Empath - The Soundtrack

ACT 1.

Track 1. Fuck the pain away - Peaches (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4yndU6NqUE)

Meggan:

Meggan is an empath of the highest order, no other empath has been shown to come close to her power levels, ever and also she is worth 3 points so she's gotta work hard for the money or we'll sell her arse on the streets. We have Meggan hit the enemy team with an unbearable wave of fear, which depending on how emotionally sturdy certain opponents are may either immobilise, slow reaction time or induce terror so as to cause them to run. This would prove most effective with Sauron, who has been rendered an animalistic idiot by Weapon X's experiments, and Hybrid, who possesses a dual mind containing both a frightened child and a sociopath. Meggan has been demonstrated broadcasting and controlling the emotions of others to the point where she has been able to bring death, deliberately, to several powerful psychics without affecting her teammates [Excalibur #121, 1998], so doing this should be no problem for her at all.
Meggan will manipulate the latent microwaves and electric energy to release a constant pulse which will disrupt all electronics and all psionic energies (including telepathy and telekinesis) emmited by the enemy. It has been shown when Firestar confronted Emma Frost, a world class telepath, that she was able to completely negate her telepathic abilities through generating microwaves [New Warriors #10] and also against the being Darkling, who was capable of possessing an army of superhumans [New Warriors Annual #3]. As microwaves are part of the electromagnetic spectrum and Meggan is capable of manipulating the electromagnetic spectrum, Meggan can control these waves. This means that Hybrid is not only scared shitless but also completely depowered for the moment. This will also completely depower Firestar as she won't be able to employ the microwave energy around and even if she generates some extra microwaves that will only serve to increase our pulse power. The electro part of the pulse will serve to provide painful feedback to any telepathic attacks already commenced AND it will short out the cybernetic components in Ahab's body (look to the multiple times robots and cyborgs have been beaten in such a manner in Iron Man, Avengers, X-men etc.). While this won't defeat Ahab outright it will cripple him as his arms and his left leg are cybernetic.While Meggan is emitting this, she'll begin to head toward the trees as is traditionally done in jungle warfare.

Northstar
Northstar's target is Spiral. Spiral is very powerful and huge threat but she requires dance moves and gestures so to cast spells. Northstar's tactic is simple, grab her and pump up the acceleration to the point where she should be blind and unconscious. Now, while you'd think this would take a while, it really doesn't, aerospace medicine journals used by the military dictate that at maximum fighter jet speeds the human body can only tolerate 0.1 second of this speed before abrasions, vision loss, unconsciousness and moderate to severe trauma occur. For the doubters, cynics and science geeks, here is a quote from the Encyclopaedia of Occupational Health and Safety - Aerospace Medicine, Jeanne Mager Stellman, '98:

'The effects of positive acceleration on vision and mental performance are due to decreases in blood flow and delivery of oxygen to eye and brain. The capability to exceed the hydrostatic pressure of blood at any point along the circulatory system and intertial forces generated by the positive G, acceleration ... Exposure to positive accelerations may cause temporary loss of peripheral vision or complete loss of consciousness ... Abrupt decelerative forces are often categorised into tolerable, injurious and fatal. Tolerable forces produce traumatic injuries such as abrasions and bruises; injurious forces produce moderate to severe trauma. It is estimated that an acceleration pulse of approximately 25 G maintained for 0.1 second is the limit of tolerability.'

Northstar can accelerate at a far greater rate than any man made jet or ship, even ones with Shiar tech, so Spiral should be out like a light very fast. Northstar and Angel have both referred to this aspect of Northstar's power [Uncanny X-men #414, '02]. Spiral doesn't have a hope in the world as at best she'd be in the beginning of starting a spell once we get to her and once she's accelerating thanks to Northstar she'll be out in a fraction of a second.

Hellion
Hellion opens with a telekinetic blast, throwing forcefield covered Vanguard at Frederick Slade. This should injure these two team members and disrupt whatever moves they have going for them. We don't expect them be an immediate threat since Vanguard's powers aren't good for long range assault and Slade requires contact to teleport and he also becoming very drained and ill after a teleport [Apocalypse vs. Dracula #3 & #4, Frank Tieri] as well as his passengers [Apocalypse vs. Dracula #4]. Since Slade has never been to the Savage Land he can only teleport on line of sight.

Monet
As Sauron is useless as a ground unit we expect him to take to the air for his assault so we have M rocket into the air to oppose him should he attack. She is covered from neck to toe in her latest X-Factor costume so Sauron can't absorb her easily and she is far more manueverable than he is in the air. He's also bereft of his hypnotic talents [Weapon X: The Draft - Sauron] which has not been contradicted in his latest New Avengers appearance.

Nocturne
Nocturne, our sneaky - blend in the shadows, with a talent for climbing and a prehensile tail - girl heads toward the trees vaulting up as fast as possible. Jungle warfare babe.

IMPORTANT NOTE: During this period the enemy is hit by fear, an intense fear which cannot be defeated by logic or reason, so every move they make will be slowed, halted or disrupted to at least some extent. This holds especially true for Hybrid and Sauron.

ACT 2.

Track 6. White Collar Boy - Belle and Sebastian (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_wJTeKeY_I)

Nocturne
Nocturne is running through the tree tops at top speed, jumping, tail swinging and what have you. The only person trained in jungle warfare or with the possible clarity of mind to think to look out for us up there is Vanguard, so we should be safe from detection. Nocturne's run across the tree tops shouldn't take long when you consider some primates are capable of going like 50km an hour for short spurts in that terrain and Nocturne is infinitely superior in her adaptation compared to monkeys and apes. Once she's in place she leaps down toward Hybrid, releasing bamf blasts as she goes along to disrupt anyone who is thinking of targeting her. Now she should be in charge of Hybrid.

Northstar
In his super speedy way Northstar is instantly back on the scene and his target is Sauron! Now Sauron is probably engaged with M but even if he isn't we'll make sure he goes down for the count. Considering Jean-Paul's gloves aren't as all covering as M's we'll restrict our assault to ninja kicks, since Jean-Paul gained these l33t skills from the Hand he should be delivering 00ber pwnage and with his speed there is no way in hell Sauron is getting his hands on him. Between M and Northstar Sauron is going down.

Hellion
Hellion continues to batter Vanguard around, pistol whipping Slade with Vanguard's force field covered body whenever he seems like he's getting up. Slade, considering his age, should quite frankly be out by now.

Track 9. Noah's Ark - Cocorosie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68E_JSCOD_I)

Meggan has taken to the trees, auto-synching with Nocturne's form, running at full kelter through the tree tops until she reaches the enemy team. Once Nocturne has Hybrid, Meggan releases her pulse and restrains her microwave manipulation to cancelling out Firestar's assault. She also punches the crippled Ahab's lights out when she drops out of the trees.

Out or Neutralised: AHAB, FIRESTAR, SPIRAL, VANGUARD, HYBRID, SLADE, SAURON

ACT 3 - The clean up

Nocturne uses the immense telepathic and telekinetic powers of Hybrid to hit whoever still poses a threat with blasts. Once our team has won she renounces her pedo ways in the name of Alexa and leaves Hybrid's unconscious form.
M uses her telepathy to make the neutralised Firestar fall asleep - she should have no trouble getting close enough to Angelica to pull this off since A) Angelica hasn't got access to her powers, B) Angelica isn't much of a hand to hand fighter and C) M is more than a little bit invulnerable.
Northstar does a sweep of the area and does ninja moves against any opposition.
Hellion blasts anyone who looks like they could be a threat.
Meggan commences Operation: Pom Poko which will be described as follows:

Meggan flies high up into the air and increases the size of her breasts dramatically, until each boob is about the size of a volkswagon. She then causes herself to lactate and sends a flood of frozen breast milk at any opponent who threatens her team.FIN!

Round 1: All You Need is Love!

Frederick Slade
-In a hot-pink flash, Firestar and Hybrid are the first to disappear. "Good luck, you two," he mutters, before turning back to the incoming attacks.

Ahab
-"Ah-hahahahahaha!" The crazed old man whips a harpoon at Northstar. He steers his floating chair on an intercept course, chasing the speedster down. The harpoon will, of course, veer and bear down on Northstar relentlessly, crackling with paralyzing energies. It should keep him moving, as the first pause to attack will most likely mean a scored hit.

Spiral
-"The blue one is mine!" The six-armed bladedancer shrieks, leaping forward into a burst of teleportation that has her crossing the distance in a heartbeat. Spiral drops out of the air and immediately goes after Nocturne, slicing with four bluades and hur ling hard kicks in a volley of quick and brutal attacks. "Your pelt is too nice to leave attached to your bones!"

Vanguard & Sauron
-Grabbing the Russian warrior, the pair leap to the air with a burst of repelled Earth courtesy of Vanguard. Sauron flaps and divebombs for Hellion, using Vanguard's enacted shield to deflect any bursts of TK back at the young mutant upstart. Sauron will focus his mesmerizing stare on Hellion, and soon enough it should be more than enough to claim his mind. Sauron then commands Hellion to drop his TK shield and turn his next attack on M! [While airborne, Vanguard will also keep his reflective shield at the ready in case Northstar decides to start off with a burst of blinding light, turning at least some of it back on the other team.]

Firestar & Hybrid
-The unlikely pair reappear far behind where their group first started, at the very edge of the jungle and battlefield. Hopefully, there's enough vegetation to hide behind to mask their time away together. Firestar shivers in disgust as Hybrid lays his hands to either side of her head and Mind-links. "Keep your mind clear," Hybrid snaps. And their mental focus beams toward Meggan like a flaming arrow. Hybrid takes advantage of Meggan's natural empathy, using Firestar -- the only one among the team that knows a thing about true love -- to flood Meggan's mind with warmth and good feelings. All else is blocked out; the fighting, the shouting, the pain and the sounds of the surrounding jungle. All there is is the endless kind of love Justice and Firestar once shared. Fingers touching...lips...two hearts beating as one...You don't want to fight...Hybrid focuses the total strength of his telepathic powers on this one goal, admittedly leaving the two vulnerable in the meantime. But the others look busy enough, as is.

Round 2

Spiral
-Her unique -- and quite insane -- mind should protect her from Nocturne's possessive abilities. And while Nocturne might decide to use her 'Hex Bolts' in response, Spiral has the added benefit of four extra arms, two of which are currently weaponless and crackling with ready concussive blasts. TJ might be able to evade for a short while because of her combat experience, but Spiral is laying it on thick. This fight is over before it started and Spiral slams a knee into the other girl's throat to drop her to the ground and render her unconscious.

Ahab
-He motors across the battlefield to join in the beating of M. If Hellion doesn't go down to Vanguard and Sauron's combined initial attack, then he zeros in on her and tasers her with his neural-whip. This might just slow her down, as strong as she is. But it will also keep M from focusing her telepathic powers on he lping her other teammates like the besieged Hellion and Meggan. [If she takes flight to escape, he starts hurling harpoons.]

Vanguard & Sauron
-"That's a good boy," Sauron coos, using his mental hold on Hellion to snatch M out of the air and hold her steady for the harpoons to impact. Afterward, Vanguard smacks his hammer across the back of Hellion's head to drop the boy, then stands over him as Sauron starts looking on hungrily for some easy life-force.

Firestar & Hybrid
-You remember love...Firestar's warm voice echoed inside Meggan's invaded mind. Her mindscape would change to a faerie wonderland, and Brian would be there, a psychic creation of Hybrid's. "No more fighting," Brian declares, scooping Meggan up in his arms beneath towering trees and an endless blue sky. Then Hybrid closes the scenario inward, trapping Meggan in the fantasy.

Results: Nocturne, M, Hellion

Afterward

"I think I'll take my prize," Hybrid leers at Meggan's prone body.

Firestar tears herself from his grip, and snaps around to land a right-hook to the creature's bulbous head. The air around her crackles with flames as she comes to stand over him. "Let that be the last time you ever look at her like that again," she warns the cowering alien.

As the others move to meet them, with the other team draped over their shoulders, Frederick Slade is the first to throw up his hands in confusion. "What did I miss this time?!"

She has full control over the range of the microwaves, so she is more than capable of directing them only at the enemy without it affecting her own teammates. ;)

Meggan's wave of induced fear would make Frederick Slade incapable of attempting any teleporting. And her microwave-electric constant pulse renders Ahab, Hybrid and Firestar completely useless.

Spiral

With Ahab incapacitated, Northstar can perform his moves on Spiral with no problem as she is also affected and slowed down by Meggan's intense fear before Norhtstar's swift attack.

Vanguard & Sauron

Sauron flaps and divebombs for Hellion, using Vanguard's enacted shield to deflect any bursts of TK back at the young mutant upstart. [While airborne, Vanguard will also keep his reflective shield at the ready in case Northstar decides to start off with a burst of blinding light, turning at least some of it back on the other team.

Sauron's savage nature makes him extremely vulnerable to Meggan's manipulation of his emotions, so he couldn't accurately grab Vanguard, both then becoming vulnerable then to out team's attacks.

Arms, right leg and floating chair are all disabled by the pulse plus Ahab is shitting himself. So nein!

Spiral

Considering that she needs hand gestures for this, Northstar gets to her way before she pulls it off and once he's accelerating she's basically out. Even if we give the teleport to her Nocturne is doing the jungle thing, so she won't get hit anyway.

Vanguard & Sauron

We're hitting Slade with Vanguard using Hellion's teke, there's no way Sauron can get to lift Vanguard. M also intercepts Sauron before he can get to Hellion. Sauron also doesn't have full command of these hypnotic powers as shown in the Weapon X one shot 'The Draft: Sauron' as they, along with his higher intellect, were removed so as to give him physical powers.

Also, Sauron is pretty much an idiot thanks to Weapon X, so he is hit by the fear wave BAD.

Firestar & Hybrid

Hybrid and Firestar are depowered, bombarded with fear [this is especially true of Hybrid with his child/alien dual mind], the person to teleport the was busy being pistol whipped by a dude in a force field AND even if they are teleported, they're made violently ill by the teleport.


Round 2

Vanguard is in Hellion's grasp, Sauron is by this point enduring a dual assault from M and Northstar. Sauron no longer has the complete hypnosis powers he once had.

Firestar & Hybrid

You're depowered in this instance, so no. Later Hybrid is dominated by Nocturne which again prevents this, so no.

Meggan tells the energy when, where and how to get its freak on so it will go only where Meggan tells it to, which is towards the enemy.
