Hi everybody. I've been putting up artwork on a blog i started. I know everyone's got one these days and i'm late to the 'art thread' party, but i couldn't resist. I've been trying to post on it every weekday since i started so stop by and check it out if you're so inclined; i'd love to hear what you think. Here's the link, enjoy!: billyboneshisfancy.blogspot.com

Looks like you have some good stuff going dude! I really like the the Bad Seed drawings, reminds me of Hewlett in such a good way. You have some strong pencils just make sure you don't lose them in your inks. As long as your thinking about your line weight I think you'll do fine. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks FB! I love Hewlett (you flatter me), but I hate inking. I find that I'll often totally screw up what made an image cool in the first place when finalizing with inks. I'm learning, so thanks for the tip. Any advice on what tools to use, i.e. pens, brushes, etc.? I've been using different weights of Pigma Micron over rough blue pencils for more finished stuff that I've been working on, filling in large portions of black with sharpies, but I'm sure there's something better. Sharpies are great, but don't look very professional. I like the painterly look of Mike's inking.
Drew this yesterday for a LoJo fan and thought you all would appreciate it. It's part of a Lobster Johnson Cooks! series that I hope to put out  :

Whoah, your stuff's sweet. It itself answers your question: who needs inks?
Of course you could do inks if you want: take a brush and... ink (for inkwash just add ink to water on dish and work from light to darker). Or if you prefer use a waterproof (what's the arty word?) pen and the brush for large black spaces. Or use the computer. But again: what I've seen I think is great as it is. Especially the floatyhead dude and the snake & dragonfly. So there .
