It may be time to do something like this.
Like what did the storyline accomplished? Was this satisfying? What would you have liked to have seen done differently?
So far we have Cable all alone with a mutant baby that may be savior of mutant kind or the opposite.
Bishop has become public enemy number one. He has possibly become a villain.
Under Cyclops' command two new X division have been created, one being the next generation of young mutant called "Young X-Men" with a more progressive philosophy. The other a new X-Force lead by Wolverine wich is set to do a wet work style super-heroing for more difficult threats.
Layla Miller is stuck in an alternate futur.
Professor X is possibly dead.
Cyclops has disbanded the X-Men.
These are a few interesting situations that are set to give more than a few books a focus for stories for the near futur.
The opposite way of looking at it would be to wonder what was point of Messiah Complex and if the story was nothing more than X-teams running around after baby. Was the whole story compelling enough to span 13 issues? Were the writing and drawing good enough?
Your thoughts.
I think Messiah Complex was a very Satisfying Event and the titles spining out of it i think will be worth it

Looking forward to YXM..I loved this past issue of Uncanny, so I look forward to it...I just hope it doesn't do anything drastic right off the get go...

The X-men are not disbanded. It was a lie to avoid Stark.

As an event, I really enjoyed it.
As a springboard, only time will tell. As of right now, I'm getting all things X for the aftermath (except Wolverine: Origins, which is unrelated). However, I have my reservations about how well they're going to do Cable and Young X-men. The first issue of X-Force was a little underwhelming, but I think that was just my unreasonable expectations combined with having seen so many preview pages and articles. Issue two will be a better barometer, I think. I did like the first post-event issue of Uncanny a lot, though.

Bishop is a villain in Cable's book.
Layla will come back in X-Factor eventually and finally marry Madrox.
Prof isn't dead, he's gonna be the star of X-Men Legacy.
X-Men aren't disbanded, he jsut said that so Stark would stop registration evangelizing him.

Overall I was somewhat disappointed in the whole thing. At the end of it I was left with the impression that I had just read a 13-part pitch for Cable and X-Force ongoing series, neither of which interests me. I feel like nothing substantial was accomplished.

That kinda is what you read. And an introduction to the cast of X-factor and you met the NKotB if you didn't already.

i loved it. im hooked on the x-men once again. one thing that bugged me.. i wish they didnt say something like the prof is dead when they clearly have no intention of keeping it that way from the start.

Best X-Over sine AoA. Maybe best ever.
But it doesn't make me want to read the other X books.

It was for the initial impact. The "Sheise!" factor of seeing Xavier's brain rip through his skull at the hands of Bishop, especially considering Xavier wasn't even his target.
It was even stated in interviews. It wasn't that "XAVIER IS DEAD AND NEVER TO RETURN!" He friggen disappeared in the last panel, and everyone knew why.
The writers wanted people to feel the emotional impact when first reading it.
I suspect it will be similar with Sinister. I doubt he'll never return.
Divided we stand so far are all good reads I like the new post Messiah Complex

It was a great crossover, probably one of the strongest in recent memory Marvel wise.
