View Full Version : Would you like to see a Defenders/Champions team reform with unused X-Men?

In the upcoming "Incredible Herc" series, both Angel and Iceman have come back to lend their hand of support as the Champions - which actually might be a good thing for them, so they can get back to their roots and receive more character depth.
And with the X-Men disbanded, Xavier's dream gone, and none of Scott's followers having a sense of direction at this point, would you like to see two legendary teams (New Defenders & Champions) reform using unused X-Men and non X-characters?
Personally, it might be a good idea to have some of those original characters back with a non X-team, just to give them more to do, as well as solve issues that aren't mutant related. This might also work for other X-characters that need a little boost in their career as well.

I think new groups should be formed all together, as they can't form the Champions due to legal reasons and the defenders is already set.
Iceman
Rictor
Northstar
Julie Power
Hulkling
And they should explore themes of their sexuality.

Thoughts?Colossus will be appearing in Joe Casey's new 'Defenders' mini, alongside other heroes who aren't X-Men. (She-Hulk, among others). I believe it's called 'Secret Defenders'.
That being said, and the roster of that Defenders team already confirmed, I don't think it would be a bad idea to have a Defenders team take on a couple of X-Men who are currently doing nothing. But I'm not thinking about characters who are currently involved in 'Divided We Stand', like Nightcrawler or the Angel, but rather X-Men we haven't seen in a looong time, or X-Men that have recently been part of a satellite group. I'm thinking of Longshot (who isn't a mutant), Forge... Even Psylocke could be cool on a team that's more involved with the Marvel mainstream universe.
EDIT: Andres beat me to it concerning the Defenders.

It's called the Last Defenders, and if there is Colossus there had better be Shadowcat.

The best heroic type X-men are maybe the originals along with Rogue. Everyone else I think is too murky and sullied.

That's one of the things I liked about either team, is they take most things serious.

I voted on the fourth option.
Me too, and it appears to be the most popular candidate. Though that could change.
I don't think we need a random X-Characters Defender's book.

I dunno. I'm not well versed on Champions or Defenders history but it feels like a leftovers concept, which could work mind you, but not just to give them something to do.

You can't leave Wiccan and Shatterstar out of this. They'll be lonely without their boys.

Shatterstar should be left out of everything for the rest of time ever.

I would like to see a new Champions team, but I doubt it would be successful if it happenned.
