for me the reason ditko doesnt make into my list is cos i dont consider him a good spiderman artist,i consider him the great supreme spiderman designer mor ! but as penciler i hated his art.
there was a guy in the 70 that i loved his style,he did quite a few stories with black cat and the black suit, but since i dont remember his name saviuk made into the list in his place.

One of the most underrated Spider-Man artists is probably Mike Zeck. His work on Kraven's Last Hunt was excellent, but I can't remember if he did any other Spider-Man work.

Stern's a writer, not an artist.
Hahaha, I put that in there on purpose...lol!
Actually, as soon as I saw a reply to this thread i was thinking, "oh man, i hope I didn't write stern instread of Frenz!" DAMN!
I meant Frenz, but they were a great team and Stern's name always sticks out to me. I'm gonna edit that now, lol....

One of the most underrated Spider-Man artists is probably Mike Zeck. His work on Kraven's Last Hunt was excellent, but I can't remember if he did any other Spider-Man work.
He also drew the Soul of the Hunter follow-up to Kraven's Last Hunt. In addition to Secret Wars.
ARGH! How could i forget Mark Bagley off my list? His work in the 90's was awesome, but i hate his run on USM.
I can't understand why so many of you said jrjr...the most overrated artist in the buisness.

I'm exactly the opposite. Can't stand his 90s run on Spider-Man (but I liked his New Warriors and Thunderbolts) but I love his Ultimate Spider-Man.
I can't understand why so many of you said jrjr...the most overrated artist in the buisness.
I swear, there's one of you on every board. ;)

To name what to me are the "classics". Plenty of people have done bang-up jobs though. I liked Dan Jurgens's brief run in the original Sensational, and whoever the guy (or team, because the colorist deserves serious credit) is who did the most recent Amazing #549 is outstanding.

He is an acquired taste, I think. But you can't deny he draws a great Spider-Man!

shame on you sir, shame.
As exaggerated as his art is Ramos' work on CW Wolverine was one of the best I've seen, coupled with Guggenheim. But Ramos' Goblin run was good, too. He definitely grows on you, when you look at his interpretation of a story.

Rick Leonardi.
Oh! Nice pick! Kind forgot all about him. As soon as I read that my mind recalled the old Cloak and Dagger cover…
Also a tip of the cap to those mentioning Humberto Ramos, his Goblin was really nice.
Those mentioning Chris Bachalo: has he already done some Spidey or are you just anticipating (or saw some preview pages from) the upcoming AMZ stories?
I can’t remember him doing Spidey, but I eagerly await the upcoming stuffs.
All in all I’m surprised how often Bagley is listed, opinions/tastes vary of course but he, rather easily, tops my _least_ favourite Spider-man.
