I fail to see how some good artists make the book good. Except for Slot (who I'm not that interesting, but he is not bad) and Wells (same here) I don't trust the other two, and I don't like the BND setting. Either way, I have a tone of back issues I can buy to fill my collection and get my spider-man fix.

So it's "silly" to not buy a comic you think is stupid and unoriginal? What have we "lost," exactly? I put the $17 I've saved so far from not buying ASM into getting one of the Essentials, so I'm actually getting to read these exact same stories from the first time they were told thirty years ago. The names are changed around, but it's still the same stories; Spidey's poor, Aunt May is old, Jonah is an asshole, somebody wants to beat the crap out of him, Harry is rich and hates Spider-Man...BND should actually be BTDT, for Been There Done That...

And Kitson sucks balls, which makes him a perfect complement to Bob Gale. I could draw a better Spider-Man with the pen clutched between my ass-cheeks. I sent some sample pages to Marvel, but they haven't gotten back to me...

It`s a great addition but it´s not spider-man , just an impostor dresset as spider-man.The mix of artits is not quit good ,because the tittle won´t have a artistic voice.

Are we silly for not spending our money on a repellent (to us ) concept?

How have I lost by not spending money on a character I don't enjoy as written. I have been a Spidey fan for decades and I have too much affection for the character to help finance the continued mangling of the Character.

You wont know whether we have lost or not until the hype dies, unless you have some magical insite into the number of comics ordered by the LCS's after OMD finished and the fans reacted. :confused:

Do you have speciial insider information that no one has? Even Marvel can't know, they can only project.

In forums I see new posts from people who say they have been won over by BND. For every person who desperately try to howl that this isn't Spider-Man there are as many if not more who think that this is the true Spider-Man since a long time. What more insight do you need?

What more do I need actual quantifiable facts on orders since BND came out.

The only thing that will prove it is a success is if sales numbers don't take a hit after the hype settles and new orders are placed. E-mails for and against don't add much to the bottom line. They are hard to pay for things with.

The magical insight I asked about was in the only thing that matters in the success of a comic. Are people paying for it? What the are orders placed in the last month looking like? If you cant answer that question you are just making things up. Can you name a single documented fact about orders? If not, you are just fantasizing.

I do not say its a failure. I just say it is blowing smoke to say it's a success. If Februaries numbers on sales equal the just the average of all the Spider-man books for the preceding I will say its a success.

I have not seen a poll heavily in favor of of BND can you enlighten me on just ones location. You can find the opposite easily.

That this happy little world you abandoned in the 1990s will, like "ours", be just as thrown out when the next editor thinks "Christ, this is a mess isnt it?". Boasting rather arrograntly "your" Spidey is safe is only as durable as one man's opinion being dictated to people caught in the crossfire.

First, you have no right to tell people what to post or where they can post. Second, this was started by a person saying that everyone should just stop boycotting or not buying and just jump on the band wagon. Direct your post to THAT person.

I still can't figure out why they couldn't do this retcon the marraige thing two years ago instead of acting like they were going to do something revolutionary every month with the character and instead just stopped it without a conclusion... O.K. a really bad way of stopping it without a conclusion. So Kitson has to be the guys on the 'Satanic' Spider-man. I feel for the guy. This will either be rerereretconned or be known as the 'bad-era' or the last era the way things are going for comics.

That Jackpot thing still seems like a joke to me. How can anyone take that seriously?
