I've been reading it online over at www.giantitp.com, but I also know there are 4 or 5 books out with material unavailable online.
If anyone has read them, would you recommend them, or skip over 'em?

I'd recommend this series for anyone that's stuck in D&D mode, as it's pretty damn funny (IMO) and plays with the 4th wall a bit.

Some of the books are just reprints of the online strips.

There are at least two that are new material -- one with the backstory on the main characters (On the Origin of PCs) and one with the backstory on the villains (Start of Darkness). They're fun and inexpensive, so you may as well pick them up. The villain version is about three times as long as the hero version, or at least feels that way.

All the books have some new material, but as K'nort said you definitely want to get both "On the Origin of PCs" and "Start of Darkness" books, which are excellent.

I read the strip online and I have all the books, since the print copies are way better to use to hook new unsuspecting readers onto OOTS

I have to pick the books up someday, but I have read the strip all the way through and eagerly await updates.
