USM: Death of a Goblin--did you like it?

I thought Immonen drew the heck out of it, but as a storyline . . . eh, it's a bit of a comedown from Clone Saga and Ultimate Knights. It had some amazing action sequences, but it otherwise felt a bit like a retread of previous Goblin storylines.

The Amazing Friends storyline looks to be a return to form, though.

My favorite bit in the arc was the part where the two SHIELD guards parked their van outside Pete's house. The interaction between the three of them was great.

I loved the story, but I'm really missing Bagley's art on USM now. Immonen just doesn't do it for me.

USM is just a bad, never ending, long played-out cover song. I’d rather see Immonen doing Amazing Spider-Man, or better yet more Nextwave.

Nah, 616 Spidey is a broken chord compared to USM's wonderful cover music. Gun'N'Roses version of Live and Let Die is a cover you know...

I enjoyed "Death of...", it had that "kitchen sink" mentality that Bendis gets better than anyone else, closed out Harry's arc, and he even got a eulogy that mirrored strong scenes of high schools that have such moments.

I enjoyed the arc. I would say the moment at the end was a bit over the top. High school kids aren't that corny are they?

I liked it, although the Electro issue didn't seem to have much of a point. I hope Bendis was honest when he said neither are coming back to life, but I'd be disappointed if there wasn't some kind of Goblin legacy to fill in some of the gaps, like Miles Warren's phone call, or the reality/illusion of Norman's assassin who lead Harry to the bunker during the Hobgoblin arc.

Wow.

Just read the trade, and this story was easily the best of the entire run. The art was fantastic, the character interactions memorable, the dialogue sharp and not overwrought like Bendis normally gets, and the ending was quick and powerful. The eulogy at the end got me teary.

I looked around at FIVE different stores today, and NONE had the trade! Three out of five told me "it wasn't out yet"--but it is--and the others I didn't bother to ask.

I got it and it was okay. The art was good but not Bagley style. Immonen draws an amazing Spider-Man and his action sequnces are superb but the faces. They just look ugly froim far away. I dont' want to rant on Immonen because I have respect for him. Filling Bagleys shoes is a HUGE HUGE job. I just don't like his faces. Immonens art is better than mine though. And because of the art, it didnt feel like Ultimate Spider-Man. The dialouge was the same but I just didn't feel like I was reading the same comic. Although I find it very hard to picture Bagley drawing this stuff. 7/10. I will get the next trade though or maybe monthlys when Ultimates 3 finishes.

I read the trade and it is pretty good. I loved the scenes that go on between the fights like when they're in school. I also loved how Carol Danvers was portrayed here pretty silly ( i.e. playing with the web shooters). The art is different but still good. I also almost cried at the end.

I love Ultimate Spider-man especially the last three arcs, this series has really upped the quality over the last year.
