I love the original and "Return", which is about half of them already, but "Revenge" was at certain intervals underlength, and shoehorned a "Supe Ex Machina" crossover ending into the shop...and Spidey-Borg was if nothing else a good illustration.

The best part of that was Doc Ock got to be particulary violent... smashing Sandman when turned to glass, and the payoff to that at the conclusion with Marko resurfacing and attacking Ock in his shatterd glass form.

i believe only the one you are refering is good, its the shuttle/space thing right ? i actually always found them corny and lame toguether, and how they wasted time with scheme to get spiderman individually.....why create a supervilain TEAM to act individually !?!?!
i know most octopus fans are pleased with how he become more violent, but i honestly disliked it,it make him just like any other supervillain willing to kill anyone,he was always the above guy, kinda like kingpin, have the lackeys do the dirty work for you.

The origianl stroy by Lee & Ditko is a classic.

The other apperances, not as good.

To answer your question, the two Sinister Six stories you said were good were good Sinister Six storylines. I also liked Millar's Sinister Twelve and Bendis's Ultimate Six.

I, too, liked those.

"Return..." also featured the deaths of Nathan Lubensky and Johnathan Ceaser, so it's got a largely more significant place amongst the storylines.

theyre always doomed to not be very great, the sinister six storylines.

mainly because you know the first 5 are gonna get jobbed relatively quick and easy.

a good twist would be if Spidey got smacked-down in the first round, and the other 5 werent needed.

or, if all six just attacked him all at once.

or maybe i just want Spidey to lose a few limbs after OMD/BND

Erik Larsen's Sinister Six stories were great. "Return", was that the 6-parter in Amazing? I have very fond memories of it, picking up on it partway through the arc when I was about 10 traveling through the States with my family one summer. That was when I first started actually collecting comics and following particular series as opposed to just getting and reading them randomly.

Pretty much exactly what I came here to post. The original story was from back when annuals were events in their own right. The first annuals of most of the great Marvel series in particular were all spectacular bits of adventure fiction. For Amazing Annual 1, you can actually find the entire premise, themes and scope of the Lee/Ditko run condensed into that one 41-page story. Throw in guest appearances by the entire Marvel lineup at the time and six climactic images that double as stupendous pin-ups, and you've got one of the top stories of what's still one of the best runs on the character ever.

The return of the sinister six .. early nineties (late eighties??) got me back into spidey after a while away .. so I enjoyed that arc ..

I've only read "The Return Of The Sinister Six". It was a very enjoyable read.

The original and "the return of Sinister Six" were great.Especially the second one.I even bought the game for NES.(while the game was called the return of the Sinister six,the boss battles where familiar with the origianl Lee-Ditko story).
