He had a promising origin, he should have popped up in Ultimate X-Men. Kind of a waste. Oh and on Wikipedia it says that a 616 Geldoff is in the Initiative. I haven't picked it up, so if anyone knows... And this surely means that he will return in an Ultimate title, right? Aaaaand GO!

Dude. Geldoff sucks. He annoyed me the whole time he was in Ultimate Spidey.
I was hoping he'd blow himself up, or something. :p

616 Geldoff hasn't done much but be called on a roster and appear in a training scene.
Was Bendis still writing UXM when he introduced Geldoff? maybe he had plans he never got to do?

The arc Geldoff appeared in was published from between July 2003 and November 2003. Bendis didn't begin UXM until August 2003.

I agree that Geldoff himself wasn't my favorite character, but I like his origin story. They idea that he was made into a mutant through genetic altering rather than just being a natural mutant. They should explore that more. Even if it's without Geldoff.

It isn't really the character thats appealing... just the origin. I mean, why was this not thought of already? Its blaringly obvious.

It's been years since I read that arc, and Google isn't doing much to jog my memory, can someone re-fill me in?
EDIT: About the amazing origin story, that is.

Geldoff was a "victim of genetic tampering on the placental level."
"...scientists tampered with Geldoff's placenta while he was in utero. Since the placenta's genetic material is not recognized as foreign to the uterus, mutant genes injected into the placenta were absorbed by Geldoff. Xavier and Beast conjecture that the experiment was considered a failure because the gene and resulting powers did not manifest until now (although, in most mutants, signs of mutancy don't emerge until puberty anyway)."

As far a science goes, in-utero is widely accepted as one of the most likely ways to engineer a living organism, the other bieng retroviruses. The only other way is to use modification techniques on the parent's reproductive cells.

because it was. they're called 'mutates' ex. the Savageland Mutates. there's also the U-Men and their artificially grafted on mutant powers. Geldoff sucks @$$.

That makes no sense, those people would die or reject the organs.
