Was wondering if they ever put out movies with different anime characters in them from different anime? If so can you name them?

I've heard that a One Piece and DBZ movie was in the works, but nothing beyond that.

It is done, but only as a special amusement park attraction at Japan. Kind of like the Terminator 2-3D movie. Plus, with the matter of conflicting licenses, odds are it will never come to America.

Go Nagai did several Mazinger/Getter Robo/Devilman crossover movies.

I think CLAMP has pulled a couple crossovers, but only related to their own internal content... that is to say, different and unrelated CLAMP titles occasionally have crossover content.

CLAMP titles definitely have some kind of crossover. But these are not present in most anime based off their work.

The exception to this is Tsubasa and xxxHolic.

Some of the alternate universe Gundam stories have sort of crossed-over. Some Gundams from the earlier Gundam series, as well as the at that point not-yet-released Gundam Wing appear in "G Gundam" in blink-or-you'll miss it cameos. Also Turn A Gundam featured several mecha from the Universal Century timeline (I'm aware SEED DESTINY does this too, but they changed the suits whereas Turn A mostly has them identical) and at least one episode implied all the Gundam series took place in the same universe, just eons apart.

Goku and Luffy teamed up to fight Eneru in a short film that exists only as an Amusement park show in Japan somewhere.

The early cast of Slayers and the later cast of Sorcerous Stabber Orphen teamed up in a Novel Crossover, but it only exists as a novel and a radio drama of said novel; there is no manga or anime adaptation of it.

Characters from some of Leiji Matsumoto's series have crossed over.

And of course, there's the Super Robot Wars video games.

Granted both were made by the same guy, but wasn't there an Astro Boy and Black Jack movie?

I don't know but that would be weird if Tezuka did okay one.

"I'm Astro Boy let's fight for peace!"

"Whatever kid, now do you have an incurable disease I can cure?"

"I'm made of metal."

Black Jack's response:

Tezuka did it a little differently.

You see, he freely used characters from one series to the next as if they were actors.

Tsubasa: Resevoir Chonicles is almost essentially Super CLAMP Wars.

Go Nagai more or less crossed over at will. Mazinger Z and Grendizer were both made right off the bat as the same universe, and later Great Mazinger and Getter Robo were added. You can find a movie where the four of them battle this oil-eating monster if you look around on YouTube.

Then, there was the Mazinger vs. Devilman, and also, the main character of Devilman makes an appearance in the second/third Cutey Honey series.

There's also that Jump All Stars Nintendo DS game. It's got a bunch of Shonen Jump characters in a neat Smash Brothers-esque fighting game. You had fighters and assist characters from DBZ, Naruto, One Piece, Death Note, Bobobobobo, YuGiOh, Prince of Tennis, etc. It only came out in Japan sadly. Though I did get both it and its sequel. The first I imported and the second I bought on vacation in Japan. Thankfully the DS isn't region encoded.

Guys, he only asked about movies. Bringing on series and videogames isn't exactly answering the original question.

Well, it's a bit more interesting than a flat out 'No' or just one or two crossover movies that did get made. Can't think of just movies off hand that do. Usually movies are done as big events and a crossover would be seen as more of a side thing.

Kankichi Ryotsu from Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo (KochiKame) has crossed over into many many mediums including anime, movies, and manga.

Most notably he appeared in a TV made movie where he teams up with Doraemon.

More recently, Shonen-Jump (Japan) had him cross over into every syndicated Shonen-Jump title including One Piece.

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Piece) says:

Kankichi Ryotsu from Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo appears in a panel in Volume 44. Kochikame forged the incredible streak of over 30 years in publication leading to Ryotsu appearing in all the stories in the Shonen Jump magazine including One Piece. This was part of an organised tribute between the different mangaka of Shounen Jump magazine.

Pika! :D

There is a movie out, called Sailor & The Seven Balls.

It is an actual film that has characters from Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Neon Genesis Evangelion and others.

It is to be avoided like the plague.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT even look it up if you are below the legal age in your area to view adult material.

That's actually a pirate, non-licensed movie, so I guess it doesn't count. But yes, it's awful and should be avoided at all costs.

And I assume you meant 'Above', not 'below'.

The OTC never said it had to be official.

And I said exactly what I meant to say.

Wasn't that Seven Balls porn toon done by some American company using crappy flash or pre-flash animation? Or maybe some Japanese company did it all crappy and a US one just liscenced it. Didn't they also do that also crappy Anime Fiction series? Yeah, certainly rather gray area on the legal use of the characters. Aren't they spot on character model? You can't use the exact same designs and say it's a parody.

Um.. not that I've heard of any of these.

Also, Kankichi Ryotsu is the cop character, right? I saw a scan online of his cameo in Bleach. I also remember him as a character in that DS Shonen Jump fighting game.

Man. That's a series I doubt is coming over anytime soon. Hell, it's a miracle we got a series of JoJo manga over here. There's just so much manga that never sees the light of day. People bitch about American comics that go on for years and even decades. They say manga doesn't do the same. Bullcrap. Of course manga is usually one author, for good or bad. I guess the trouble is.. is there a market for multiple 30 + volume manga? The Kankichi Ryotsu series has god knows how many volumes. I know it's one of the longest ones. That and Ippo maybe? Now there's one a friend would love to see come over, but at the same time would have trouble keeping up on. Hell, he still hasn't got all of GTO.

Crossover......

Well I know of two however I can't really call them crossovers as one series was a spin off from the other.

1. Please Twins and Please Teacher: Both series take place in the same small town in Japan. Please teacher came first and characters from Please Teacher make appearances in Please Twins.

2. Angel Links and Outlaw Star: Two characters from Angel Links appear in an Outlaw Star episode. Both series take place in the same universe.
