Love Dodecahedrons

Marvel has some truly legendary love triangles -- the two best known are probably Cyclops/Jean Grey/Wolverine and Namor/Invisible Woman/Mr. Fantastic. A Love Dodecahedron (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LoveDodecahedron) goes a step beyond a love triangle, creating a tangled web of people who've dated, married, had children together, or lusted after one another. There was a joke in an issue of Wizard that went something like "when you kiss Tony Stark, you taste Galactus", and I think that's almost true. For example purposes, here's the Love Dodecahedron that resulted from Peter David's Hulk and Captain Marvel runs, spilling over into the rest of the MU.

Phyla-Vell was the lover of Moondragon, who romanced Marlo Jones, who dated Mr. Fixit (Hulk), who slept with Monica Rappaccini, who slept with MODOK when he was still human. On top of that, Phyla's brother Genis has kissed Moondragon before, Marlo is married to Rick Jones, and Hulk was married to Betty Ross. Moondragon also chased Wendell Vaughn and Thor around back in the day before she discovered she liked girls better, AND romanced Cloud who romanced Ice Man in turn. So everything loops around to the muties sooner or later.

My ultimate goal is to find a Love Dodecahedron that loops back on itself -- like A is in love with B, who likes C, who loves D, who wants A. That sort of thing. Does anyone know of one? It's amusing to play a kind of "Sex Degrees of Seperation" game, like the Kevin Bacon game, but with booty instead of film roles.

Tony Stark-Black Widow-Daredevil-Glorianna O'Breen-Foggy Nelson-Liz Allen-Green Goblin (Harry)-Mary Jane-Spiderman-Black Cat...

Mind the possibilities which might spread from Stark, Black Widow and Spidey, Also, Daredevil had a thingie with Moondragon, so Murdock could have a cosmic spin-off.

Eric's best friend, Chris McCarthy, had been secretly dating Veronica behind Eric's back

Eric tells Veronica that Chris is cheating on her with with Kirsten from weapons storage (Chris isn't cheating on her)

Eric had actually been dating Kirsten but got dumped because he sold naked pictures of her to SHIELD lunchroom employees

Veronica and Chris break up (well, more like Chris dies)

Eric and Veronica hook up

Eric immediately loses interest despite Veronica now being in love with him

just as Eric starts a new relationship w/ Abigail Dunton, Veronica turns out to be pregnant w/ his child


does that count as a love triangle? Veronica still had feelings for Chris as she and Eric made out on his grave.

The IAM Love Dodecahedron would look something like this:

Kirsten <---> Eric <---> Veronica <-----> Chris

That's a pretty complicated one, about as complicated as you can get with only four people and no homosexual hookups. The only link that's missing is Chris and Kirsten actually getting together, and it'd loop back on itself.

With regards to the DD Love Dodecahedron, Black Widow also connects to Hawkeye, who in turn brings in almost all of the ol skool Thunderbolts, so we've got a villains connection, like so:

Black Widow dated Hawkeye, who romanced Moonstone, who Zemo is in love with, who secretly romanced Songbird, who dated MACH 4. Songbird and Genis flirted, and it's pretty obvious Radioactive Man is in love with her, so there's like half the Tbolts right there.

Cool post idea. Been taxing my brain at work trying to think of one. Came up with two.

I'll start this one with the cast of Young Avengers. So apparently Iron Lad developed a short-lived romance with Stature. Supposedly in the upcoming, Young Avengers Presents #4, Stature will be dating Vision 2.0, who is essentially an amalgamation of Iron Lad's armor/brainwaves and the original Vision. The Vision dated and was married to the Scarlet Witch. The Scarlet Witch had an on-again/off-again relationship with Wonder Man. Wonder Man is currently seeing Ms. Marvel. And Ms. Marvel at one time was wooed and impregnated by Marcus a clone of Immortus aka Rama-Tut aka Kang aka Iron Lad. And were back to square one.

This one's only a love hexagon, as it has six points, but it has some inner connections also. Vision 2.0 has the brainwaves of Iron Lad, somewhat making them the same person, and Vision had the brainwaves of Wonder Man essentially making them the same person. Not to mention Marcus was a clone of Kang, who impregnated Ms. Marvel to be birthed into our reality. And then Iron Lad is Kang as a youth. My head officially hurts.

My second one. This one requires a bit of a stretch in two places, but does end up being a dodecahedron with 12 points/sides.

Let's start with Magneto. He was romantically involved with Lee Forrester. Lee at one point was involved with Cyclops after Jean Grey's death. Cyclops eventually married Madelyne Pryor. Madelyne later dated Cyclops' brother, Havok. Havok has and is currently dating Polaris, who at one point was possesed by the entity Malice who is currently possessing Omega Sentinel (Karima Shapandar). Karima before becoming a sentinel was romantically involved with Thunderbird (Neal Shaara). Neal later became romantically involved with Psylocke. Psylocke at one point was dating Angel. Angel at one point (according to the "Nick Fury Files" in the back of recent Marvel books) dated the Scarlet Witch. The Scarlet Witch has been involved with Wonder Man. Wonder Man is currently seeing Ms. Marvel, whose brain patterns/psyche had been absorbed by Rogue. Rogue was very briefly romantically involved with Magneto. And were back to square one.

I am of course counting the Polaris/Malice/Omega Sentinel and the Ms. Marvel/Rogue points as as one person each. Which requires a little stretch of the imagination, but it's the closest I can come up with for a dodecahedron.

EDIT: Ms. Marvel was involved with SHIELD agent, Col. Michael Rossi. As a result of the absorbed Carol Danvers psyche, Rogue had feelings for Rossi, making a legitimate connection between the two.
