So the writing was intentionally to make him look that powerful.

Of course people try and downplay how powerful he really was, but apparently his power level was much higher than people give the Hulk credit for:

Yeah the Hulk at that point seemed to be on his way to becoming some kind of quasi-cosmic being, radiating energy everywhere and so strong he feared his very presence would destroy the world. He was clearly far above the likes of Supes/Thor and co...

It was pretty obvious that was what the story was alluding to. The scene with Hulk and Caiera should've sealed the discussion that Hulk stopped himself (via assistance) before he ended up cracking earth in half....or becoming a galaxies destroying gamma burst *cough* *cough*

For those few moments when he lost it, yea sure he was above them. Physicly. But that counts for almost nothing since those other guys are at incredible power levels 24-7. They don't need a once in a lifetime tragedy to set them off.

Yeah, but I think one of the things is the Hulk can't control that high-end level of power the same way that Supes/Thor can. I don't know if "quasi-cosmic being" is really what would happen... I would imagine more it being if the Sentry is the man with the power of a million exploding suns, the Hulk would BE a million exploding suns.
