So i didn't get to read the FCBD issue when it came out so i bought it this week..
First of all i kinda like that this is set before the first issue of BND, it didn't nessecarily fill in any blanks but it added to the story.
Secondly i was a fan of jiminez's work from Infinite Crisis but i had heard some times his work could be really poor if it was a montly instead of something more large scale but after reading this i just got to say WOWZORZ.Bad choice of a word i know but it was really impressive...it had everything for me:
A nice dynamic spider-man that had alot of movement and acrobatic visuals in every scene.
Realistc human and surroundings interms of proportions
The detail was top notch, really incredible.
As for the writting, slott won me over with this issue. He really gets down the more "classic" witty spider-man i feel which people like PAD didn't hit much on in recent years. The story was a nice little self containted issue (unless you count the first issue of BND) and set things up nicely.
After reading this i kinda wish Slott and Jiminiez would be the only pair to collaborate on the title....do like a 10 issue run or something, then like mcniven pair with someone else or whatever.
So to sum up, for anyone who hasn't read this....buy it.
Also: There are a few spoilers in the back with regards to new villians and the general status quo of spider-man. They really seem to be hammering home whats going on and who knows what as it is really confusing..
