Perhaps this will get Mr. Stones to show us more of his fantastic drawings. :) I'll start it off.

Tad surprised me during my hospital stay by coming to visit and giving me some great copies of Mignola original art. He put it in a cardboard folder with this lovely drawing on it.

Enjoy!

And if you like this, wait'll you see what Tad's got cooking--ah, hell. I'll let him show ya when he's done!

I LOVE it! You must be very happy with it, Rick. :)

Hope you are feeling better - I'm a little out of the loop these days and there are SO many posts to catch up on!

Nice pic, it is about time that Taddles had an art thread proper, although, the HB Jnr could be considered as such. Now I'm confused.

I'll stick to Junior's thread. In case you're wondering, I'm working on something a little longer than usual. Rick's seen it because about the only time I get to work on it is when I'm sitting next to him at the weekly Sketchbook Session.

I got the "You're not even trying" comic from Tad. I was going to have it framed up nice until I got a new idea. I'm going to San Diego next year since I can't go to Dragon. I'm going to wait till I get a photo with some fellow Hellboarders and have the whole thing framed together along with the pic of Petersen and me I got at Motorcity. 2 pics of the comic, 2 photos. Since I look at the toon as kinda a celebration of the crazy extended family I have on this board I think that would be fitting.

Nice radioactive goblin you've got there sir. The red lighting effects are cool.

The posting will come very soon. Then there will be the special collector's version. Then the extra special edition with cackling commentary. Then the ruta edition where all the parts will be played by vegetables. Then...

Hey, speaking of parts being played by vegetables...a quick plug for:

http://www.oedipusthemovie.com

I was storyboard artist and production designer on this short film adaptation of the Greek story which is now playing at 3 different film festivals here in LA. It's playing with RezFest so if it comes to your hometown, check it out!

Oedipus is played by a potato. His mother is a tomato. His father is a stalk of broccoli. All beautifully stop-motion animated.

Nuts. It's not coming to Calgary any time soon. Do you know if there are any plans to do a DVD? I have a friend who is a fan of vegetables for whom this would be a great gift.

I was just interviewed by my friend Jason (the director of Oedipus) for the DVD. Not sure when it will be ready but if he gets enough interest he'll be selling them.

I'm afraid your diabolical and very clever scheme seems to be having no effect upon our highly intractable foe, agent hellboyone. Commendations on your efforts though.

With my promotion to evilstatus and the help of you three capable agents we may get this case solved by..say... some time in October... Halloween perhaps!

Needed to test some new pens....poor Tad's art became the guinea pig. Tad drew the big guy last Thursday night. I drew the little guy (thought he needed a little creepy sidekick....kinda like me to Tad). I hastily inked both.

Just a thought: How come spacesuits never have loud Hawaiian prints on them?

Ever try to weave one o' them thangs? With or without Hawaiian prints, it's a bummer.

Guess you could silkscreen 'em though - hey, NASA, what about it?

There is a sad and severe lack of artwork in this thread. So here's something! I practically coerced Tad into giving me this when I saw him drawing it. And I'm glad it worked. :)

Good score, Rick!! Echoing what morna said: I really want to know the narrative attached to it.

I want to see more art from the dark and cobwebby recesses of Tad's mind.

Love it!

Tad, your style is so great.
Full of story that the viewer has got to just fill in for themselves.
Big fan of that kind of work.

I know you've got more out there, and I can't wait to see it!
