I thought this was pretty odd, but noticed it in my local paper. A photographer has a whole theme of pictures with immigrant laborers dressed as superheroes. Heres a link. Wonder what Marvel and dc would think about something like this considering that they are all concerned with their image these days. Tasteful, or distasteful? Who knows?

tasteful yes, but i just find it kind of...blah. the costumes are just from the costume shop down the street, and the poses aren't exactly inspiring. the topic is interesting, but hardly something that should have costumes attached to it. i'd almost like to see the pictures without the costumes, and just see a photo journal of the workers.

I might be in the minority on this, but it seriously bothers me when other forms of media take comic book characters (without the blessing of their respective companies, I'm sure) and use them to further whatever social or political messages they have.

Surely there is a way to make their point without co-opting someone elses property.
