In light of the recent CBR articles I thought it would be fun to see which people you think should be in the deck. I'm sure the first 8 or so will probably be close to CBR's, but after that it's anyones game. Here's mine so far.....
PART 1
ACES:
Spades: Ironman- No explanation here with S.H.E.I.L.D at his finger tips and many ties within the government he's got to be a top dog. Plus, he pissed them off royaly.
Hearts: Reed Richards- Being a super genius has it's perks not to mention being the leader of one of the greatest teams in history. In addition to having close ties with Stark and the Initiative, the Skrulls main beef with Reed is his ability to find a solution to almost any situation he's put in making a suprise attack the only way to truely out smart him.
Diamonds: Namor- With his membership with the Illuminatti being the straw that broke the camels back, Namor also has more to offer to the Skrulls than just a bounty. Being in conrtol of an entire nation has it's benifits, but it can also be one of the best scenerios for the Skrulls. By posing as Namor, if he should decide to declare war on the surface would (we know that Atlantis is no more and everyone is a sleeper cell) but should he command his troops to attack regardless, it might just make things that much easier for the Skrulls if the Earth's forces are weakend from an attack.
Clubs: Black Panther- T'challa is the man. He's a scientifically blessed warrior with a country at his command. His warriors, although not as large as other nations, are equiped with top notch gadgets that make them formidable foes. He's shown in the past that no challange is too great, and now being married to Storm makes things that much worse. With Panther's scientific methods and his acces to vibranium, it is likely the Skrulls would find T'challa to be a huge threat.
KINGS:
Spades: Nick Fury- Although not presently in command of S.H.E.I.L.D, he was for a very long time and in that time on top of gathering loads of intel, making back tie connections and being a experienced soldier, Fury still is able to run S.H.E.I.L.D from underground. With the years of service to his government, Fury has made some close relationships with those in and out of S.H.E.I.L.D making his power greater then perhaps of Tony Stark or Maria Hill. With his ability to call the shots from behind the scenes, the Skrulls need to find his location and neutralize him so his loayal connections deep within S.H.E.I.L.D will adhere to their needs causing some major problems for the rest of the government.
Hearts: Doctor Doom- Although not a superhero like everyone so far, Doom will stay out of American affairs, but if the Skrulls come knocking on his door watch out. Doom has taken on the likes of Galactus, The Beyonder, Silver Surfer and not to metion almost every hero the US has to offer. Being the leader of a powerful nation Doom's diabolical plans are always at hand and ever so unpredictible Doom could be the biggest wild card in this war. If the Skrulls could somehow pose as Doom they could start World War 3 and take out a large portion of their problems before the war even begins.
Diamonds: Black Bolt- Seemingly already aprehanded, Blackagar Boltagon if he is loose, can be quite a handfull and could lead to the end of their plans. Black Bolt is the leader of the Inhumans, who all posses powerful abilities much like mutants. If Black Bolt is free and can rally his people to aid the people of Earth, the Skrulls' plans may backfire in their faces. Being the one who personally blew up their ship, it's pretty clear why they would go after him first to solve a personal vendetta.
Clubs: Hulk- Hulk will smash! Not only is Hulk the strongest there is, but he now has warbound followers that if reunited, will die for one another in battle. If the Skrulls could duplicate the Hulk and have even half of his strenght it could make for a hell of a situation for Stark and the rest of S.H.E.I.L.D. As Bruce Banner, ones of Earth's formost scientific minds, he could be just as big of a threat to the skrulls as his counter part the Hulk. Hulk will Smash!
QUEENS:
Spades: Professor X- The another member of the Illuminatti unaccounted for, the Skrulls have a score to settle with this man. Even though the leadership of the X-men is under Emma/Cyclops' command and Xavier hasn't been the most honorable man, but he still has been like a father to the X-men and with that being said, the mutant population will have his back when things hit the fan. On top of that he is the world's supreme telepath and can cause a lot of problems if he gets into the heads of certain military ranks, the Skrulls could crumble from the inside.
Hearts: Henry Peter Gyrich- Posing as Gyrich would not only be a good idea, but it would probably go unnoticed for a while. Being a giant ass as it is no one is going to question if he begins to make some rather harsh or questionable decisions becuase, well that's what he does already. The Skrulls might have data and plans for the heroes that are already in action, but what of the new recruits? No better way to learn about your enemy than working with them directly.
Diamonds: Thor- Recently ressurected, and unbeknown to the Skrulls, there's no question that the Thunder God could cause some real unexpected trouble for them. Thor may not be on the best terms with some of Earth's champions, but in his heart he would never let anything or anyone harm the planet and the people that have been a part of him for so long. Thor is presently searching for the inhabitants of Asgard on Earth and if he should happen to come across any trouble, not only would the skrulls have to take on Thor, but his fellow Asgardians will be a handfull as well.
Clubs: Dr. Strange- Another member of the group responsible for the Invasion, Strange will most definitly be in the skrulls cross-hairs. Strange's largest asset is being the Master of the Mystical Arts. Being able to conjure up a wide spectrum of spells, which can reek havok on the Skrull's plan unless they get to him first. If the Skrulls could somehow recreate the magic Strange uses (or at least mimic it) they could sure put some fear into the hearts of those that stand in their way.
JACKS:
Spades: Abigail Brand- Although Stark and Maria Hill know everything they need to know about S.H.E.I.L.D, Brand is in charge of S.W.O.R.D, which specializes in extra-terrestrial activities. If anybody would know about a bunch of Skrull ships head towards Earth she would be the first to know about it. If the Skrulls want to get the jump on Earth's forces they'll have to take care of SWORD before they can begin they full on assult.
Hearts: Maria Hill- Hill is a little fire cracker. She's hot headed and isn't afraid to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. But the real reason te Skrulls need her out of the way is because she happens to be the next in command behind Stark. Now the Skrulls could infiltrate the top ten people in command, but Stark and Hill will do just fine, if they get either of them expect Chaos to brew within SHEILD.
Diamonds: Valerie Cooper- Being in charge of O*N*E, Cooper has a lot a stake with the upcomming war. Even though they are preoccupied with mutant afairs as of late, ONE and their powerful sentinels would not be very fun to deal with should Cooper decide to unleash ONE on the Skrulls.
Clubs: General Thundbolt Ross- While the Skrulls will want to focus a lot of attention on the Super heroes of Earth, they mustn't forget about the militaries especially the US's. Being a general and having put so many years into his career, it is easy to understand why someone might want to either take out or pose as the General. Having a lot of pull, the Skrulls could use Ross to hold back using too much military force tipping the scales in their favor.
