Is/was this series any good? I saw a few old issues at my local used bookstore, apparently the series was by Larry Hama who I definitely like, so is it worth picking up?

Dude, the series is classic. If you get the chance to read the first 3, please do so. If you enjoy them I know youll love the whole run.

I've only ever heard great things about it myself, though I've sadly never had occasion to read it. :(

If you ask me it's one of the most stupid things I have ever read. The first two issues or so showed a lot of potential, but the rest was utter crap. Hardly have I ever seen a dumber character than Alfie O'Meagan. This series could have easily been an 90s Marvel title. That's how bad it was.

I loved this book to bits, it had more weirdness, twists and badass action than anything anyone else was doing at the time.

While Taskmaster is entitled to his opinion, i have to disagree strenously. I can see how it wouldnt be everybody's cup of tea, but i feel you cant beat the combination of ninja's vs special forces WW3 action and all powerful psychics with a fixation on comic books.

If you like Hama definitely give it a try, it was the best thing he ever did, right up there with his Wolverine stuff.
