Hi all. Im relatively new to this forum, this being my second post and all. Id really like to get into the Countdown series but am unsure where to start? Are they releasing the previous series in TP? Do I need to collect the side arcs at all? Should I bother getting the other Crisis series?

Can anyone help me with this please?

You should be relatively ok with just the mini series. But just be aware that the book connects to other happenings in other books and those books will reflect back on Countdown.

I'm not sure when the trades are due but I'd recommend those if you are in fact interested in Countdown or Final Crisis.
