i can think of wolverine since the incident on germany.
namor has very early on called him noble and worthy.
capt america sure does.
i believe punisher does too,in his own ways, since whenever he is with spidey he uses mercy bullets.
silver sable also respect him as a ally, dont know much about him personaly as a hero.
johnny storm (doh).
maybe iron man or maybe he was just luring peter, and reed richards due to his intelect?
so who else could you list ?

Its inconsistent. A character might respect him in one story and totally diss him in others.

Generally Spider-man is an inbetween guy. The older heroes treat him kind of like they weird kid brother, and the younger ones tend to look up to him more as he's a bit more accessable to them and easier to understand.
In Maximum Carnage, Firestar made it clear that she had the utmost respect for Spidey.
I wonder if that's not a sign that a lot of the younger heroes idolized Spidey to some extent, since he was sort of the pioneer at least in the modern age (Bucky obviously had Peter beat out in WW2).
Daredevil obviously does.
In the Atlantis Attacks What If, the Grey Hulk made it clear that he really liked and respected Spidey despite constantly acting like he's annoyed by him. I think Logan can fall into that category too. Regardless of what they say I do think both Hulk (smarter versions) and Logan respect him from working with him as much as they have.

Daredevil-doesnīt exitate when in need of help and the fact that he revealed his identity.
Human Torch-despite the friendly rivalry,it has been shown that everytime that Spidey is absent for a long period of time(Identity Crises/The Reboot)he gets worried and goes searching for him.
Wolverine-Had my doubts but one thing that made me see how much he respects Peter was in House of M when he realizes what happened the 2nd person he thinks of contacting right after Xavier was Spidey.
And that issue right after the one shot,Web of Spider-Man 29.
Luke Cage-Itīs one of things that came out of New Avengers their relashionship was something that i didnīt see coming.
Iron Man-I donīt believe he has that much of respect,he asked Peter for his complete trust,Peter gave him by unmasking and stinking by his side, what did Tony do?Basically gave him orders and hid from him almost everything, not to mention he set free Peterīs worst enemy Norman knowing every single thing he did to him in the past.
One thing is for sure besides Susan Storm(she sees him like a more responsible version of Johnny)the heroines seem to not have much respect for him at all.

susan ? she never strike me one as such, the only good reference for her was in their first encounter where she calls him cute when he makes a web heart for her,she pretty much seemed to ignore him for me,do you remember any event in special where you concluded this from ?
yah,i remember that firestar line, thats what got me into new warriors, but i found no evidence of such claims in there,i think it was just put there to make spider feel good,or make firestar a little relevant, maybe it was just a joke about the cartoon ?
im not following NA for a long time, got bored after the ninjas thing for me,the only luke reference i saw was the "i dig you new suit" or sth along the lines, and talking about NA, i think spiderwoman likes him as close kin.

Almost all that know him do. Is not like he's the Punisher or Deadpool.

All of those Marvel Team-Up issues hooked up Spidey with almost all the Marvel super heroes. He made a lot of buddies.
Peter's the little brother everyone has to either love or put up with.

Yeah, although he seems to have more respect after the avengers thing. I wonder how the runaways would react to him

I'd say Cap, Wolverine, Xavier, Daredevil, all the FF and Dr. Strange are the only 'heavyweight' definites, as well as a lot of the younger heroes. That being said I think it has a lot to do with the way he is written especially when he is in bigger storylines with other heroes. The writers tend to like to use him as comic relief and I think that portrays him as not being as mature and seasoned as the other heroes even though he's been at it a lot longer than a lot of them. In the new Avengers storyline when they are in Japan while everyone else is getting down to business he's asking about going home and making comments like he has no business being there and is just a junior superhero or sidekick. In the House of M storyline all the heroes who have been 'awakened' to what is going on are dealing with a lot of stuff yet he is the only one who keeps whining about 'please make me forget' and smashing tables because he can't deal with it. He is Marvel's flagship character and isn't a kid anymore, he's been in a ton of save the world storylines and should act like it. Sorry for the rant, I just hate reading storylines where they still have him behaving like he's a teen who just got his powers. I registered just to reply to this thread because this has aggravated me for so long. On a sidenote I loved when they made him the leader of the heroes in the animated series version of Secret Wars. At least somebody showed him as a hero who should be respected.

Just disagree with this, the others did have a lot to deal with, but nothing near the stuff Peter had to.
Suddenly his Uncle,Gwen her father and a son are alive a he isnīt married to MJ!And with another blink of an eye theyīre all gone again.
He wasnīt whining or acting imature he was in pain and had every motive to act the way he did.

They may all see him as irritating but I certainly believe that they respect him. You don't single-handedly take out a herald of Galactus (Firelord) and not garner some respect from your peers.

Point taken. Since Spidey is far and away my favorite hero I guess anything that even alludes to him being weaker willed/minded than the other heroes really gets on my nerves, especially because he is so experienced. He even flips out at the end when they have fixed everything, he has MJ back and he knows he never really had that version of his family because it was all just Wanda's powers anyway. At least if he's going to break down have him do it in private so he doesn't look as weak in front of the others. I just wish that whenever he is involved with other heroes in big storylines he wasn't always used as comic relief and have the 'oh gosh what are we going to do' persona they tend to write for him and occasionally have him step up and be a leader. My Spidey soapbox is very tall :)

They all respect him. I'm sure all the heroes who have heard some of the amazing things Spidey has done in his life/run, give him the thumbs up. He's beat tons of baddies of varying power and saves people all the time. Everyone knows he's a joker and I doubt that takes away much from how he is perceived. I don't think people have to actually come out and say "hey your a cool guy". They know he is. He has a history of kicking ass and saving folks.
