Been reading on the Spawn.com forums that Godslayer has met it's doom :(

It's too bad, I've really been enjoying it. Just didn't pick up enough steam.

This was an absolute shame but I think that 99% of the world has a negative spon on anything with SPAWN in the title because of McFarlane and the IMAGE gang. The problem is this title had nothing to do with the original Spawn. The writing was incredible and the art was really second to none.

I will miss this title.

Really?
I would have thought it had to do with the Gaiman/Miracleman lawsuit.

People want that series to continue (I hope).

Actually that whole issue involved the flagship title of SPAWN. The series that is being cancelled, GODSLAYER has nothing to do with the original title except for a guy coming back from the dead. The new title is an amazing fantasy book with the best art going in any book these days. The delayed release of books on schedule killed this book.

Well this was a good take on different type of hellspawn, I enjoyed it just much I enjoyed the Deathdealer and ongoing spawn series.

This sucks. I really liked Godslayer. It had a great story with some very nice art.

I would agree it was top notch - speaking of which looks like you have a good title going on over at your place. Love seeing the little guys pushing quality... now let's just get some smaller titles that can stand the test of time.

It sucks when a Spawn title gets cancelled so early. That character can carry as many spin-off books like Green Lantern or Batman can!

Any word if the Batman/Spawn crossover is still coming?

The word is that the project is still out there but I think we have a better chance of Todd and Neil hugging then we do this happening. I might just be a hopeless but the writing on the current Spawn is better than ever and Godslayer was so original... poor promotion and a timely release schedule killed the book.

Thanks for the support. It means a great deal. By the way I have to agree with you on Pax Romana what a great read so far. Hickman continues to blow my mind.

It's funny that it's actually the title SPAWN that attracts me to buy this title. Well, sad that's gone....:(

...that is interesting, it seems that any time I mention that word "Spawn" I am quickly shunned for uttering such ignorance which I find humoruous because that is the look that somebody should get for saying Ultimates 3 - but to each their own.

Issue #7 is scheduled for March 19 - that leaves us with only one more issue before this incredible book is set off into the sunset.

I hope they tie some things together to make this feel like a true 8 issue story. I would encourage all to pickup the trade once it is out (have to assume that there will be one).

lol Exactly, I liked the previous Ultimates and this new Volume is extremely ifffy. And yes I would have to agree with your qoute, All Star Batman and Robin is embarassing and IMO pathetic.

Sadly this Wednesday gets us one closer to the end of one of the best books to come out in years. Below is a copy of the original solictation and how they were really looking to use this issue as a springboard... it just did not transpire. Godslayer will be missed!!!

You know it blows my mind how some of the comics out there sell around the six digit mark and basically suck. Yet, the well written and artistically appealing ones that are actually worth shelling out three or four bucks go down the sh!tter.

Preaching to the choir on that one - incredibly under appreciated and unknown book---- in about a year everyone will catch on when the trade comes out and question how they missed it
