Here's a thread to discuss anything about the Eureka Seven anime or anything in the Eureka Seven franchise (such as the games, the manga, etc).

I absolutely love this series. And the ending is amazing.

I like the series too--so I'll post something here just to keep it from rotting away in deathly silence. ;)

I started watching this series when it was more than half-way over (two very significant supporting characters had already died).

so a lot of the references didn't make any sense to me--and the ending seemed rather anti-climactic. all I knew for certain is that there were several characters I liked.

what made it strange, of course, is that when I went back and watched early episodes I couldn't recognize Talho! I was like "who is this person?" and then I realized that she had the same little flower tatooed on her face and had the theme of white and purple... talk about "make overs"!

one of my favorite moments (and one of the first episodes I saw) was when Eureka tries to put on makeup to make herself pretty. the big reveal was possibly the first memory I have of the show. the whole make-up episode was so hilarious and poignant I got hooked on the show thereafter.

I'm one of the few people who liked the first half of Eureka 7 better than the second half, but only because the series took a decisively darker tone towards the end, IMO. Part of that, I think, is because the series was originally meant to run 26 episodes or so, but then was pretty much doubled in length during production. As a result, the ultimate climax of the series was pushed back considerably and the main story kinda wandered a bit with some side adventures and characters until it could catch up.

Still, I liked E7 overall. The characters were more interesting to me than the actual story, though. The up and down moments between Renton and Eureka in the second half of the series were my favorite. All of the women of the Gekkostate were done well, IMO...
