Reginald Hudlin: Love him and(or) hate him

Reginald Hudlin made Black Panther overpowered and directed House Party.

On the other hand, he writes Black Panther out of character, and is the president of BET.

I love the man I hate.

I hate his writing on Black Panther. He has some good ideas but his execution is poor in my opinion. I hate the fact that Storm and Black Panther got married. It seems to be the most forced move in comics. I feel like the only reason he did this is because the are both of African descent. Lame!

Being the president of BET hasn't exactly wowed em sales wise on Black Panther though. Perhaps its time to accept that maybe Hudlin needs a co-writer . Goyer had Johns and they made JSA very good til Goyer's schedule pulled him away from it finally.

I have no hatred for the man since I don't care. But thus far he's not really done squat for sales and each "event" and "Crossover tie-in" hasn't done what Marvel has wanted. No one who reads X-Men or Fantastic Four drifted over to pick up the BP title.

Thats a failure.

I don't think he's a good writer. I don't like what he's done with the Black Panther. I don't like the way he writes Storm. I really didn't like the way he wrote Doom. All in all... I don't like his work. At all.

I liked the CW and Marvel Zombie arcs of Hudlin's BP books. So they weren't a total wash. He can at times put out stuff I like. Though most of the time admittedly I'm not a fan.

I never read his Doom, but if it's anything like Full Force from House Party, he is very unlikable.

I still can't believe I cheered when the police beat their asses for no reason. Hudlin made black people like police brutality.

Joe Quesada should hire Shawn & Marlon Wayans. They did the classic "White Chicks". So why not do this for society and give us the Wayans on Black Panther. Whats scary is they have more of a Hollywood Name than Hudlin.
