Question about when the Annihilation event took place...

Has it been stated around what time the Annihilation took place in relation to Earth? I mean, what was going on on Earth when the Skrull Empire started getting gobbled? Were we still back at Secret War or were we really knee-deep in the Civil War?

Somewhere in Annihilation (issue #3, maybe?) the United Forces retreat to just outside Earth. Nova sends down a message regarding the coming Annihilation Wave. Nova makes a comment that implies Civil War is going on at that point.

Another reference for timeline purposes is that in Uncanny X-Men around that time, the X-Men are traveling in Shi'ar space when they encounter a couple of Skrulls fleeing the Annihilation Wave. But since the X-Men are absent from Civil War, that may not be particularly helpful.

Interesting, and I'm glad you posted it, but yeah :( sadly not what I'm looking for. I'm looking more towards the beginning of the event, like around when the prologue took place.

Hmm... well, there's no point of reference regarding the Prologue. Reed Richards shows in the first issue of Super-Skrull's mini. However, I don't remember if there's a reference to anything else in that sequence. But that's about the best you'll get, I think.

Annihilation happens around the same time as Civil War and Conquest is occurring about the same time as the Secret Invasion: Infiltration stuff.

The She-Hulk book does give us some timeline of events.

Her Civil War cross over takes place before the issues where Phyla and Moon Dragon shows up, and thats clearly pre-Annihilation. So CW took place a descent amount of time before.

Well, in the What if? Annihilation issue, we see that the final battle of Civil War happened after Drax freed (or would have freed) Galactus. But then again... I don't think the timelines match up perfectly between Annihilation and what happened on Earth. I wouldn't let it bothered you though.

I think it marvel time it started nearly a year before Civil War. Nova and the rest had been fighting for quite a while before they retreated back to where he was when he sent the beacon to Earth during Civil War. Annihilation was a real war and not just a couple of big battles.

The Annihilation Timeline (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?p=4588444) lays it out. Phyla and Moondragon didn't get involved until between 100 and 200 days into the war. Depending on how much time we want to say passed between the trial in SHE-HULK and Thanos's attack on Moondragon and how late in the war that attack took place, there's plenty of time for Civil War and Annihilation to overlap.

Plus, according to Andy in the Q&A thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showpost.php?p=3525518&postcount=1181), ANNIHILATION PROLOGUE took place slightly before CIVIL WAR #1. He stated several times that Annihilation and Civil War were taking place roughly concurrently.
