Remember When PETER Was The Scarlet Spider?

My god that had to have been cover variation nightmare. In the UK we had one issue where Peter in his Spidey suit looking over a destroyed NY, when he was wearing Ben's suit during that particular story (involving Traveler), and the American version of Web#125 had Gwen lifting up Peter's webbed mask when he was wearing the Scarlet suit.

Ah, I remember those issues all too well as they were some of the very first comics I ever got.

I liked when he had the SS costume on. His reaction to some of the devices Ben had come up with was great.

I loved Ben Reilly, hated to see him killed. Wish he was back somehow now that BND is here. That would be the only reason I would ever pick up BND. Impact webbing was cool and I loved Ben's Scarlet Spider suit but mostly his variation on the traditional red and blues.

Yeah, I must admit that I liked the Ben Reilly Spider-Man costume. It was instantly recognisable as Spidey and updated the costume without being too cheesy or disrespectful. I wonder why the writers ret-conned that, too...

GOD! At last I find someone who actually likes the costume!!!!! This is great guys because I also liked the Ben Spider-Man costume, maybe more than the original. But btw I didn't like that Peter became Spider-Man. I think it was one of those silly thinks to cash more on the clone saga.

Yeah Ben was a great character, poorly executed I think. Its interesting theres been a lot of talk about him lately. I doubt theres any plans to bring back in BND but like I said before that would be the ONLY selling point I could think of that would bring me into the fold. When I think of Ben I think blonde, clone (not the original), member of New Warriors (but now I would love to see him in Initiative or something), works at the Daily Grind (I actually liked the supporting cast he had), impact webbing and the variation of the red and blues (but maybe now a variation on the black and white). We will probably never see him again sadly.
