I thought of this as I saw Ron Marz's name on the screen cruising the Spidey forums. Now for those newer fans who have came along ...back in the mid 1990's Ron Marz created Kyle Rayner for DC Comics. He was pretty much a character Marz had taken from Peter Parker . In it ...Kyle was an everyman who struggled with the power and responsibility of being Green Lantern. He also suffered a loss ala Peter Parker that pushed him forward.

Now as my question ..I always wondered if Marz wanted to write the Spiderman books . Seeing as how he did such a good job on Green Lantern with Rayner , its no shock that he likely could have wrote the orginal to good as well.

So if Ron Marz or anyone reads this... what do you think of him writing Spiderman ? I haven't seen him really ever do that character at Marvel or DC.

He's a decent writer, so I wouldn't mind. He's not one of my favorite potential Spider-Man writers (a list that includes Millar, Brubaker, BKV, Stern, Dematteis and Simone) but I could see him doing some decent work on the title.

Because Spider-Man is basically Marvels crown jewel, there's a long list of A list writers that could tackle the book.

I'm sure Marv could do it... but he's not exactly at the top of my personal list of potential Spidey writers. Still, I did like his Kyle Raynor. I wish they could recapture that vibe of the character today.

Well, Peter Parker did make a cameo in an issue of Green Lantern, so maybe he was interested in writing the character. Then again, it may have just been something the artist felt like throwing in there.

I'd give it a shot.

I'd like to see his take on Spiderman and how it would differ from his Rayner stuff. It would be interesting to see.

I was gonna say hasn't he done like a million Spidey stuff? Then I realized I was thinking of Ron FRENZ. My bad.
