First Mark Bagley is a Spider-Man artist who will always be in the top 5 Spider-Man artists of all time. His look on USM was outstanding. He went well with the book and when I think of USM I think of Mark Bagley's Spider-Man. I do really like Immonen though.

Also this whole book is re-hashing Peter Parker's teenage years. Heck he is a teenager. I don't even understand this comment...


Issue looks great though. Can't wait.

I liked Bagley's art, and I like Immonen's art, too. I was worried when I heard Bagley was leaving the title, but that worry was put to rest after I saw Immonen's work. I love Ultimate Spider-Man, and I can't wait for this arc.

The second annual happens after the Deadpool arc. After the annual, it's the Clone Saga, then Ultimate Knights, followed by Death of a Goblin.

CS and UK are already in trades, so get those for sure. Both are great arcs. (I especially liked Ultimate Knights--fantastic story.) Death of a Goblin is great, too, and will come out in trade on February 6th.

It'd be a hell of a lot easier for you with the trades.

Have fun getting back with Ult. Spidey, hope I helped some. :)

I was really worried when Bagley left, cause i loved his work. And the first couple issues without him were a little shakey on the artwork. But DAMN I like how Immonen has really come into it. It looks great. And there's some great character development in those first few pages, I'm really starting to like the Kong/Kitty thing. Can't wait to read it.

I LOVE BENDIS. I really wish he could write all four Ultimate Titles. So much realism. I still think Brand New day has nothing on Ultimate Spider-man. why can't carey and kirkman pick a thing or two from bendis and realize that the characters come first before the plot. Quesada should do the right thing and give bendis 100% control of the Ultimate universe

I really like the hints that Bendis leaves throught the books.
Remember back in USM 11 when Peter is called to see the school psychiatrist which later she turns out to be a SHIELD agent that knew he was Spider-Man?
Well guess who was the only one besides Peter to be called to see her?
LIZ,that means that SHIELD and Fury probably knew back then that she is a mutant.

And when MJ tells Johnny that Liz freaked out because she thought she was the one that lit him on fire(this one has already been pointed out earlier)

Thats interesting, the fact that Magneto is going to make an appearance sorta increases that possibility of Liz and Magneto being related.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This looks like it's gonna be quite an impressive arc. I love how Bendis juggles with all of the supporting teenage cast here.

Liz Allen becoming Firestar was pretty obvious since it was announced Firestar would turn out to be an existing character. This will be such an interesting direction for her.

It's hilarious that Knog has totally known Peter is Spider-Man all this time. He couldn't be fooled with Peter's whiny act, and it's great that he's kept it to himself after everyone dismissed his theories. I mean, it is pretty obvious, but apparently Kong is the only one with amazing common sense powers, emulating Layla Miller. I wonder if Kitty will pursue a relationship with him, or would just rather be BFF. I laughed out laud with Kong wondering if Pete and Kitty had done it.

And some important develpments seem to be coming for Johny as well. Before, he was all about dating shallow girls, but now he seems bored of it and the whole paparazzi drama he used to love, and I suppose he'd go back looking for Liz hoping to find a relationship with a real person.

I can not wait to see how Iceman will fit into all of this, as Bendis has never bothered to write him wither on his UXM run or in any X-Men appearances in the book, except for a cameo with him being annoying a while ago.

I've enjoyed Stuart Immonen's art since Superman: Secret Identity (which is a really great read if you haven't yet checked it out).

I'm probably going to pick up this arc just for the sake of seeing Bendis' take on the classic cartoon. Heh. Liz being Firestar. That's good.

First Gwen Stacy dies in his backyard, Osborne is reported to have attacked Parker's house at the clone saga(coverup), Harry was Pete's friend, plus a million other things like it being a grave suspicion that Spidey goes to school and that Pete was bitten by a spider during a field trip. Now Kitty showing up and the freakout that appeared to happen when she was introduced was a good clue. Plus she was supposedly dating Spidey during the same time period that MJ and Pete were broken up. Kitty and Pete talked on the bleachers, etc, its kinda obvious. I feel sorry for Pete, how will he ever make it out of high school without blowing his identity? He's already been unmasked a dozen times by thugs.

I have an idea on how to age Peter a year and and make him stay in the same grade.
Make him flunk the year.
Because as smart as Peter is it would make perfect sense for him not be able to consiliate being spidey and atending every class.
Possible consequences:
-Strain on his relashionship with May,she would want him to cut his time or even stop being spidey and Peter of course needs to continue.
-MJ advances and it means spending less time with her
-Introduction of possible no supporting characters(not that there is a big need)since he´s on a new class.
-It would put a bigger burden on being Spidey.
And of course he would be 16/17 and still be in 10th grade.

What do you guys think?good solution or there isn´t a need of aging him even a year?

Mmm...there was that time when kitty visted Peter at his school (Ultimate Spider-Man Annual #1).Check out pages 21 & 22, Kong is walking as Peter and Kitty is out on a date.

After the Deadpool thing, pictures of Spider-Man & Kitty show up on mag covers. This also become an event in Ultimate Knights, when the class started questioning Kitty about it.

No, Peter didn't disclosed any infor of his time dating Kitty to Kong. But if you read the preview(USM#118) you would know that Kong wanted Peter to come clean so they can talk about Kitty.

That would make sense, for Jessica to try and figure out whats going on, but it might be a tired old twist. "Somebody else knows peter is spidey!" But I would definately like to see more Jessica Jones in this book.

The issue it great. The writing of everyday teens just connected with me on so many levels, (considering I'm 15). I loved the art and colors, the last 2-page spread is awesome!

I wasn't too excited for the arc when it was first previewed but now after reading #118, I'M PUMPED!

Bendis, you write character driven stories so well.

Can't wait for next issue! :D

Gotta say I loved this issue, I didn't read the preview so Kong's reveal took me completely off guard. I loved the way he just has seemed to casually accept it, and seemed more concerned about just having someone to talk to about kitty.

I also loved, that the amazing friends title wasn't just a reference to Firestorm, and Iceman but all the friends he's made. After the stuff with Harry this was a good break. Peter freaking out about all his friends being cool with their public identities was a nice bonus, was glad Bobby finally pointed out why don't you just go public. Honestly considering just about all his villains know who he is anyway...

The character interactions were fantastic and the initial sequences reflexed perfectly the emotional state of everyone.

Having Iceman arrive at the school to talk to Kitty at the same time Johnny Storm happens to be there was rather convenient, but having all these famous mutant super heroes around Peter, who was just freaking out even though no one was paying attention to him, was hilarious.

I'm warming up to the Kong/Kitty Pryde relationship after this issue.

Iceman is the only one I didn't really enjoy here. Bendis had never used him before, and it felt like he arrived out of nowhere. Also, his personality is somewhat similar to Johnny's, I honestly couldn't tell them appart form each other at the scene on the beach.

I assume the note form Logan is informing Kitty about Professor X's "death"... except Kitty was at the mansion when it happened. Maybe it's something else. Ultimate X-Men continuity is not important anyway....

This is building up to be such a great arc.
