So people are always asking me, "Ben, why do you love Nova so much?"

And for my own birthday right here in the heart of Annihilation Week, I decided to answer those huddled masses on Marvel.com:

As a bonus, scope my full personal collection of Nova sketches from Jim Lee, Ethan Van Sciver and others.

This one was from the heart, so I hope y'all dig it. :)

So Ben if Joe changed Nova back into the character he was originally. In other words the same personality of Peter Parker with cosmic powers would you be happy with that.

Nice piece on Nova, Ben... pretty sweet sketch collection you've got there! I came late to the NOVA party, didn't clue in until Annihilation... you have got to be psyched by his new stature as a result of the cosmic resurgence!

Nova is a great character. I was first exposed to him in an old issue of the Defenders; when the words "Human Rocket" were first uttered in that comic I knew Marvel had struck gold with the character. Rockets are cool :p. He's a great character and his book is one of the best superhero books being put out. But my god did he have some horrible costumes back in the day!

I loved your article Ben it pretty much reflects my experience with the character. Although I didn't identify with the character as being my favorite until Annihilation. Up until that point Nova was just a really cool character that hadn't been used properly. Now his series is my favorite comic being published and the one I most eagerly await every month. Rich has finally stepped up to be the A-list hero he should have always been. The most ironic part of his whole recent transformation is that he didn't need to join the Avengers to accomplish this. He stepped up all on his own and led the rebellion against the Annihilation Wave.

Duuuude--didja read the article? The whole reason I got into Nova in the first place was because he was NOT like Peter Parker!

Glad some of you guys liked the article though, it was fun to write.

Awesome article Ben. A great ntrospective into the character of Nova for those of us who aren't familiar with his background. I think I actually appreciate him more now after reading your piece.

Great Article.

I became a fan after Annihilation mini and picked up the essential. It was a great read.

I'm not a big Parker fan either... and Spider-Man is no Nova. ;)

Great article Ben - I gotta admit...it was really great to find out i was not the only Nova fan out there - when i first started reading...I always thought i was the odd man out when i told everyone my favorite character was Nova...

What...not Batman???

Not Spider-Man?

Are you crazy?

It's comforting to know there are many fans out there who appreciate the character as much as i do...if not more :)
