Look who’s coming to dinner? English speaking Tracy Thirteen is heading to her boyfriend Jamie Reyes' family reunion, but everyone speaks Spanish. Fear not, writer Jai Nitz is coming along to translate for Blue Beetle and his girlfriend.

And while DC has had some Hispanic characters over the years, the most recognizable current hero would likely be considered Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, Nitz said every publisher, including DC, could always add more.
Whaaaa?

Kyle Rayner is hispanic?

Yeah, half. His dad's Hispanic. We only met him once, though. Hasn't even been name-dropped since. Probably doesn't even know his wife's dead.

I've noticed lately in Blue Beetle that the Spanish ñ is getting replaced with the Portuguese, Italian, and I think French "gn".
It's funny cause I'm hispanic and when I email or IM friends in spanish I usually do gn instead of ñ only because I forget how the code for the ñ on the keyboard. The ones I type know enough Portuguese, Italian or French to know that I mean ñ.
Just interesting that I've seen it in the Blue Beetle comic and now in this article. I'm suprised DC didn't use the ñ personally.

I love this series so much. I can't wait for this issue. It was interesting to see how excited Dan DiDio got while talking about it.

Didn't he show up in Ion at some point? I could've sworn we saw him again in that.
