I concur. Have someone else order the gin and taste theirs. You don't want to force yourself to drink it. I'm not much of a hard liquor drinker. I'm more of a beer drinker. Good beer, but still beer. I have no shame in admitted I like cranberry juice and vodka, but that's more because I like cranberry juice. Every once in a while, I like a 7 and 7 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seagram%27s_7_and_7-UP). One of the bartenders at my favorite bar in town turned me on to Powers Whiskey (http://www.premiumwhiskeys.com/products/product.asp?product_id=14). She gives me free shots each time I'm I see here there. Hell, she has a tattoo of the three swallows that line the top of the bottle. It's quite good and smooth. I've only had the gold label, but never tried the 12 year old reserve.

I want the full experience.

I'd start off with a nice Cuba Libre' (rum and coke with lime). Follow with a bourbon and coke? Maybe get a 7-7 (though without the Seagram's, maybe a Jim Beam or whatever).

I mean, have you ever even had Harvey Wallbanger? Whiskey Sour? Tom Collins? Gin and Tonic? Tequila Sunrise?

*NOT* that I'm advocating mixing each and every one of those, which might *also* be a recipe for disaster. See how far a few mixed drinks takes you. Then maybe you can nuke yourself into oblivion and driving the big white bus with the tequila shots.

I think so too. All of the adult non drinkers I know tend to need something at least a little sweet as the taste of alcohol is a bit of an acquired taste. I don't think Morts would find Hendricks* palatable, as much as we love it. Rye and ginger might work better. Possibly an Old Fashioned or a Mojito would go down nicely.
