I honestly don't care who it's written or made for, Fag. I enjoy it, I collect it, I on-sell it when it gets old enough(and if the value is high enough) Anime and manga tend to find their own markets besides the ones that they were initially conceived for, and the same can be said for many other products that are not designed for entertainment.

Now, the same could be said about comics, Disney(whose target market actually ARE children) dolls, action figures and many other intellectual properties. Cartoons like Spongebob hardly have ANY elements that stimulate mental development in children, whereas cartoons like TinTin actually have referances to real-world issues(Herge using this as a medium to express his own views) As opposed to this, Anime/manga like Chrono Crusade and Hellsing have VERY strong religious themes. Anime like Please Twins...well, let's not go there.:p

There's plenty of Japanese comics aimed at housewives or businessmen. Some of it even got translated into English. I guess you can argue that Maus is aimed at an intellectual audience who still reads comics, but that doesn't exactly scan with my definition of nerd. Maybe 75% overlap on the ven diagram... But not a hundred.
