Even with all the Mongul talk I haven't seen an official thread for this.

We open with the Guardians of the Universe observing the GL and Sinestro Corps rings streaking throughout the galaxy looking for new members to induct.

Meanwhile Kyle and Guy talk about big changes and one of them is to move together to Oa. Kyle and Guy discuss it with Hal and John before they make the big move, Guy wants to make some sort of Bar there while Kyle is doing it because of his change as a honor guard now and he feels he'll do better on Oa. Guy leaves a goodbye note to Ice and there's an amusing moving truck gag there as well. There's also a fun scene between Guy, Kyle and Salaak who for the first time laughs his ass off when he hears about them wanting to move in.

Mongul messes around with the newly acquired yellow ring and learns its capabilities before thanking and then mocking the dead Sinestro Corps member that gave him the ring and later on his sister's dead corpse.

The art for the book isn't all that good when Gleason isn't drawing, I find Carlos Magno's art to be awfully average as best and I hated it when he did art for Countdown although his art does look better here. There's a f-load of inkers (5!!) here so at times the art tends to look inconsistent. Hopefully the book will have more Gleason art with a stable inker or an overall better artist for the book if Patrick leaves.

It's really not that exciting of an issue but the Mongul stuff is very good so: 7/10

BTW Peter Tomasi said that there was a production error in the parts where Mongul was using the ring to get all the info. Here's his post from the comicbloc forums:

Hey there, just realized that there was a problem on page 5 in GLC 20 that occurred in the last stages of production, so I figured I'd let ya know what it was.

On page 5, panels 2 and 3, Mongul's getting a refresher course on recent GL history and that includes the Sinestro Corps War. So what's missing is the visual elements that surround our ol pal Mongul as he stands there in the desert.

What it looked like, was if you saw MINORITY REPORT, little visual holographic cards that are floating around Mongul with specific images.

I've been told it will be corrected in the trade.

It was mostly a set up issue, but it was still very enjoyable. Gleason's art is, as always, perfect for the setting, and I dig what Tomasi's doin' with Kyle and Guy. My favorite thing about the past year and a half of Green Lantern Corps has been the "buddy cop" aspect of it since they increased their numbers to 7200. I liked seeing Vath and Isamot working together, and Guy and his influence on everyone else in the Corps, now I get to see him and one of my favorite characters sharing the spotlight in a title together. Very awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing where the Corps and this title go in the post-Sinestro Corps War landscape.

Yeah I love the buddy cop aspect as well.

I think I like almost every pairing, Vath Sarn and Isamot Kol, Bzzd and Mogo, Stel and Green Man, Kyle and Guy are all cool. Unfortunately with the recent Alpha Lantern thing Green Man's turned more monstrous but we'll see where it goes with Stel.

I'd like to third the 'buddy cop' aspect being great with these sci-fi po-po...

I'm worried about some of the more minor characters getting pushed to the back with such powerful characters as Guy and Kyle stepping into a more central role...

I honestly wish they would give this ring stuff a break for while. I mean by the time the black lanterns show up i'll be all rung out.

Mongul scenes were by far the best part of the issue, I really hope they use him to his full potential unlike they did with his father.
