Bloody hell, not ANOTHER relaunch. It's a record now surely? Next to Legion anyway...

Can someone give me the jest of what Titans is suppose to be about? I mean what's the difference between Titans and Teen Titans? And what's the point of having both? Thanks.

One is teens, and a new team. One is adults and old Titans come back.

This is going to be SUCH a waste of time.

Ugh, Judd Winick? This doesn't look promising at all. But I'll give it a whirl.

What's wrong with Winick? He's a good writer. I like what he did with the Red Hood story arc!

Yeah....and at least this is a good relaunch, with likeable characters who actual mattered a lot at one time and deserve it.

Such mixed feelings. My favorite DC team of all time, yet every post-crisis incarnation has been a complete waste of time. Then there's Judd Winnick. He can write an entertaining comic in my minority opinion, but his last team title (The Outsiders) was overwhelmingly bad.

This could really go either way, but I'll definitely give it a try.

Which says a lot about Titans weight these days if I've never heard about the relaunch.

Still, if there splitting the teams into older and newer groups, that means Beast Boy and Raven ought to start acting their age again, and likely getting back together. Jones' forced teen angst for Raven was kind of jarring to read, I prefer her regular angst...proof you should'nt deage characters.

Indeed.

I love the original Titans, so I'll give it a go, but Winnick/Churchill is a tough sell.

Judd Winick is capable of writing good comics. His Exiles run at Marvel was awesome and I enjoyed most of his Green Lantern stories (and I give him a lot of credit for helping to restore the GL mythos).

But while he is capable of writing good comics, most of the time I think he writes bad comics. Outsiders, most of his Green Arrow run, GA/Black Canary, etc. He writes some fun dialogue, but I think he makes a lot of bad decisions when it comes to story and characterization.

I've just lost all faith in him. But maybe he can proove me wrong with Titans.

I never liked GA so I haven't read his stuff there, but both his Exiles and his Outsiders were really good and churchill is an amazing artist. I would be sold pretty much on a snoppy saves the world story if we had churchill doing the artwork hes that darn good.

I really don't see this as a hard sell at all, a good but underrated writer and one of comics let alone dc's best artists along with a great cast line-up, whats so hard to get into.

Its a hard sell for me because Winick is a VERY inconsistent writer, with dialogue that leans towards painful at times. Churchill is an even tougher sale, as he's a 1 face artist. He's kinda like Michael Turner, it can be pretty enough, but after a few panels it becomes extremely repetitive.

I say we all give judd a chance.. I always like judd's work. But obviously not everyone feels the same. Hows about we see what happens come april in #1 before we hand him his walking papers.

Well it's got the definitive team, so I'd agree. I know DC continue to try and make "Teen Titans" a launching platform for young heroes, but what they don't "get" is that no writer wants to really make a new team work for s*it when the Wolfman/Perez team had the best characters, and they still have years and years of quality left because they were allowed to age.

I don't know if Judd will be able to top Geoff's run, that renewed faith in the title for me, but the characters have been developed better lately so they could be flexable enough for a writer to try new things with

I hope this book is great. But with all my favorite Titans in one book it must be too good to be true.

Yeah, like I said, I'm still giving it a try, I just believe this is a longshot based on the creative team.

I am ALWAYS happy to be wrong though.

nothing for nothing, I met geoff several times, he knows me name and face and the whole shibang. I consider us buddies.. anways, while his run was good, I as a long time titans fan/reader I really dont think it was all that people make it out to be. It definetly had some great storylines. But I dont think his series can't be matched or surpassed by someone else.

The same thing I guess people can say about the 80's wolfman/perez run. In my eyes that series is still the best there has been before and since the titans began.
