A lyric from a Guns N Roses track was mistaken for a death threat by a teacher in America.

The school teacher at the Booth Free School in Roxbury Connecticut thought she was being threatened when she heard the words :“'You’re in the jungle/Baby, you’re gonna die’” over the public address system in the school.

The lyrics from ’Welcome to The Jungle’, heard after hours by the teacher on Wednesday (December 12), led her to call the police and barricade herself in her classroom.

When the police arrived, they found three teenagers playing karaoke with the PA system.

Police handcuffed the teenagers but released them after they children told the officers they were alone in the building and had not meant any harm, reports The Rock Radio.

Sergeant Brian Van Ness told the Associated Press: “These things happen. Lucky it was humorous. You kind of have a gut feeling. As soon as we got there we spoke to the three kids. They understood.”

Good thing they weren't singing Get In The Ring.

So, why was the teacher there after hours when apparently all of the other teachers were gone home? In fact, how after hours was this?

Oh, and apparently one of the teenagers was a custodian at the school.

How can any educated person not be familiar with the works of GNR? Teacher should be fired.

Yes....and be ordered to attend a class where I teach them the classic words of Guns n Roses.

This isn't as crazy as when the guy who killed his wife had a G'n'R track burned on his comp "Used to Love Her" . They in court played the song...then quoted the lyrics to the jury. It was the 1st time I ever saw Guns n Roses music being used as evidence to put someone away.:p

Some crappy women's magazine here years ago tried to blame the song Estranged for some guy killing himself.

This was when it was still fashionable to blame bad things happening on rock music. These days it would probably be MySpace's fault or something.

Well on this (the case has been shown on Court TV) they had other evidence that the husband wanted to kill his wife instead of a divorce. I believe he didn't wanna give up the money they had....and he had more songs about someone close on his CD track list. But felt the G'n'R one was the best one to get a guilty verdict.;)

It sucks they'd blame Estranged for some dude killing himself. Hell if they watched the video for "Don't Cry" that ones about a guy dying more than Estranged.
