Madrox is the poor man's emo Cyclops!

This is actually a really tough one. All three of them had big years.

That's a dirty lie and you know it! Hef Dupe alone destroys Scott.

This was a great year for all 3, but Madrox was the best, without a doubt.

Bobby is too cool for school. Get it, cool? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ah....

I enjoyed Madrox's character renaissance under PAD (ever since his multiple choice mini), and the character had a really good year in terms of story arcs and personal characterization. Madrox is the poor man's emo Cyclops!
except not.
They're both X-team leaders (and may be, may be you could argue they have an penchant for redheads), but they have little else in common in terms of personality--especially in comparison for one to be ripping off the other, or vice versa.

Definitely Multiple Man. Despite X-Factor's quality waning a bit last year, Madrox still managed to be more interesting than Iceman and Cyclops combined.

Madrox is the poor man's emo Cyclops!
Madrox is richer in spirit *and* finances (thanks to his game show money and the fact that he's a paid investigator, albeit poorly paid). He's also about 10 times less emo than Scott. I prematurely voted for Bobby just because (he's my favorite character and) I felt like this was the first time since OZT in which he stepped up his game above the rest of the non-leading X-males. With that said, I think Madrox really does deserve X-male of the year. His vision led X-Factor to be the only team that investigated M-Day and successfully took care of the remaining mutants in the area. He also managed to gather up most of his stray dupes and start to put himself back together. Oh, and he got down with two of the X-Universe's most eligible bachelorettes :)

I'll vote for anyone as long as he's not a back-stabbing, slut-dating, wife-forgetting, man hoe.
I voted Madrox.

How the hell does Madrox' year even compares to Cyke's and Bobby's...?
Cyke, if just for that AXM scene.
Had it not been for that, Bobby would get it all thanks to BBTL.

Hmpt, I can't find the button for Cable... I guess I will pick Iceman, Carey made him cool.

I was expecting Wolverine on this, honestly. lmao Good though. The lesser, the better as far as polls go.
Definitly Cyclops. (insert mark comment here) Losing your powers, having your girlfriend stab you in the back and then turn around to say she loves you and find out she was under control...I think he's had it much tough then Madrox and Iceman.

Maddrox for his gay dupe.
Not only is he egotisical enough to sleep with himself, but also hot gay love

I would've expected Cable to be on here since he played such a big part of Mike Carey's X-men team and was one of the primary players in Messiah Complex.
Having said that, I've gotta give it to Cyke. He was kick-ass in Astonishing X-men and Messiah Complex both, so he deserves it IMO.
Next year, though, it will be Wolverine's year hands down! The guy is leading X-Force and will be a central character in the X-men books, plus he'll be a big part of the New Avengers and Secret Invasion. In addition he's got two solo books (one of which will soon be written by C.B. Cebulski and illustrated by Dave Finch), and in the Ultimate Universe he's appearing in both Ultimate X-men and the Ultimates Vol. 3. No doubt about it, next year is Logan's year.

Cable really didn't play much of a role in Carey's Xmen...he was like 3rd string and he was the first to die

He was actually quite prominent in the Condition Critical arc.

Flying his ship and getting Powned by alien ghosts?
rwsmith

Well, that and the fact that the whole arc took place on his personal island nation, Providence. I'd say that was a pretty big role.

01-19-2008, 05:09 PM
I wouldn't...it's just a location...there was more aspects of that portion in his own title than actually in Xmen.
Rogue, Mystique, Iceman, Lady M, Cannonball played larger roles in Xmen in 07 than Cable...thats part of why his death was so crappy b/c it took place as a guest star in another title where he was basically Forge.

Well he'll be going back to the future soon, so I doubt he'll be a candidate for X-Male of the Year this time next year. In fact, I'd expect that the sales on his solo will be pretty poor, and the rest of the Marvel U will ignore the fact that he ever existed.

Flying his ship and getting Powned by alien ghosts?
Getting Rogue to doctors, shooting the shit out of Mystique, being mindlinked with Urizen, getting his powers rebooted, crashing the Conquistador w/ Creed in it, getting raped by Hecatomb, and telepathically waking up Rogue. That's a pretty big role for 3 issues that take place in the span of two hours or so. Regan was only prominent in 197. Mystique just emoted about Destiny, got possessed for about 2 minutes, and kissed Iceman. Cannonball got knocked out in 198 and woke up near the end of 199.

you're basing that on the one arc i was tlaking about his entire 2007 placement in Xmen:
Raven and Lady M joined up and betrayed the Xmen had major roles in Messiah
Cannonball got mind raped by one of the coolest new characters in the Xmen and developed as an Xman rather than a new mutant.
Rogue broke out as a leader and her powers did something besides being Ms. Marvel or crying about gambit
iceman finally started showing the mastery of his powers an original member should have and got screwed over by raven.
Omega showed us why we need more non-mutant characters in the books and provided a cool comeback for a long lost villianess.
Regan provided a lot of comic relief and cracked the 4th wall.
Cable was more like cannon fodder. He was only there because Carey couldn't have Psylocke

These three guys don't stand out to me much.
Cyclops was annoying, Iceman was forgettable, and Jamie Madrox was rather boring but really caught my attention during the crossover until he was rudely put to sleep by the euthanizing Frost.

Madrox? Boring?
are you reading X-Factor upside down? or backwards?
The man has more going on than he and his dupes can handle most of the time.

You responded to my comment that he was prominent in the Condition Critical arc, writing: "Flying his ship and getting Powned by alien ghosts?", and I responded in kind. I didn't respond to your other post: "Rogue, Mystique, Iceman, Lady M, Cannonball played larger roles in Xmen in 07 than Cable", so I'm not sure why you assumed that I did.
Regardless, this is a thread about X-males, so the only contenders are Iceman, Cannonball and Cable. And as far as the X-Universe in 2007 goes, Cable played a larger role. He does deserve to be on this list.

Madrox has a great writer and supporting cast, but as an individual he hasn't done anything for me.

I feel like while Scott gets thrusted into interesting situations, Madrox is an interesting character without even having to be involved in conflicts. Any scene with him in a bar is the best.

But he isn't individual. He's the Multiple Man, there's always more than one of him:D
Madrox nearly took this for me for his role in MC but cyke is clearly da bomb.

I went for Cyclops on the strength of AXM.
Well that and because neither Cable nor Deadpool were on the list.

Now that would be fun bondage...everytime you spank/whip him another would show up :evilsmile

I just can't vote. This is extremely hard! Cyclops vs Madrox?! Two of my favorites. Cyclops had an amazing year in AXM. Madrox had that great story of finding his dupes and trying to find himself.

I'm all about Madrox and Iceman, so Cyclops didn't even enter the equation, but ultimately, Madrox has been way bigger for me.

since Warpath or Vincente wasn't on the list, I went with Madrox. but he's a distant third.

Cyke's plan In Astonishing X-Men....reason enough to make him top X-Dog.
Plus the way he's been talking Sh!t to Charlie. Plus he wants to hunt down his own son.
I guess rolling with Emma has given him an edge.
