One of my favorite fairy tales is the story of the girl/princess who saves her brothers from being birds(typicly black birds or waterfowl) by remaining silent for years dispite the danger it puts her in.
Example:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelve_Brothers
I greatly admire the heroines of these stories because not only do they save themselves but also thier male family members and love interests.
Lately whenever I think of the Black Canary I am reminded of these stories and have an urge to connect Dinah with these brave young women.
Perhaps a Queen of Fables story with the rest of the JLA turned into birds and Dinah haveing to save them silently without her Cry?
