Liz...she's always been my favorite supporting character.
It's always M.J.-M.J. M.J or Gwen, Gwen, Gwen...
I look at Liz as the happy medium between drama queen M.J. and Gwen the attractive blonde.
Liz comes off as level headed and normal despite having to deal with the world of the Osborns for so long including a very creepy child and she also proved she could be a smart business woman while running Oscorp.
Now that the reboot is a done deal....I think Peter should finally take a good hard look at Liz. They could get a great deal of milage out of Peter dating her...what would Harry and Norman do?
Liz was the 1st they VERY 1st of the Spider Gals so now it's time to return her to the thick of the action.
I've always liked Liz as more of a sister Peter never had than a direct love interest. She definatley had an interest in him, but it was the kind of "come outta your shell" love.

why not?
now that he's single, he can date anyone. and in perpetuity cause he's never going to get married--he's not allowed.
so as to the question of who's the girl for him?--all of them. :p

He IS married, it's just nobody remembers it.
So in a sense of infedelity voyuerism, all of them,

Now, with respect to Liz. I don't know a great deal about her, short of her relationship with Harry. I haven't read much of the early Amazing Spidey, so I'm not exactly sure (short of reading a wikipedia article on her) how she interacted with Peter so I'm not sure what's she like character-wise. She just hasn't seemed that compelling.

Does Peter really want Foggy Nelson's sloppy seconds?

It was more than a fling. Betty was Peter's first true love! Until Stan Lee got bored of her apparently.

Yeah oddly in the beginning Pete was trying to impress both Betty and Liz, long before he had any interest in MJ or Gwen.

Liz was a bee-atch back in high school. I never really liked her.
Betty is a real sweetheart. I've always had a real fondness for her. Maybe she could hook up with Harry.

Let's see, Liz made intentional advances towards Peter in front of her overly jealous boyfriend. She then quit college to care for her criminal step-brother. She then married a jellyfish for a husband who was also a recovering drug-addict. She kicks Peter and MJ out of their apartment blaming THEM for her husband's death. Then stands idly by and watches a bunch of super-villains beat the crap out of Peter after he revealed his identity. Sounds like an emotionally stable young woman to me. :D
(Of course those last two were retconned, but then again, given all the other stuff, maybe Harry had good reason to divorce her, after all.:p )

Well she's noticable for the first person to reach out for Pete in high school (the first one to really "mellow" of Flash's group) and give him slightly more confidence, he developed his backbone around that period too and treated her like crap. Unlike Gwen though, Liz seemed to think she and Flash earned it, but did'nt do anything about it except just survive Peter getting his own back.
Of course, Liz matured into a real bitch because of that, whilst ice-cold Gwen became Peter's sweetheart.
Though I don't think we can really look at Liz as a frontrunner, the fact that she's alive and Gwen isn't almost automatically puts Liz at least ahead of her.
Though I suspsect Felicia is a closer runner up to MJ than Liz is.

Well, to be fair to MJ and Gwen that was actually in the days before he'd met either of them.
As for Liz generally, I don't know, I've always liked her as a member of the supporting cast but she just doesn't seem right for Peter somehow. Betty, yes...but not Liz. And that's exactly the way it turned out in the comics too.
I really lost a lot of respect and sympathy for Liz after she was party to the luring of Peter into a battle with a load of Super-villains after he unmasked. Especially after all that her and Peter have been through together over the years.

That's a good point.
Liz and Peter can probably never be together since we know what she's going to do if he ever reveals his identity to her.
What would Peter do in BND's canon?
Maybe Spidey disrupted Harry and Liz's reconciliation dinner fighting a Spider-Slayer...
