Article at Marvel.com (http://www.marvel.com/news/comics.2246.X-Men%3A_What_Comes_Next%3F_Part_1)with some cryptic hints about the future of Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Cable, Warpath, Emma, Bishop and Angel.

What was most interesting was the bits about Angel (literally bite?) and Rogue.

And Hi-Fi, I guess you are right about Emma.

All well and good, but where's the Astonishing preview?

I knew someone died at the end of Messiah Complex. That death has to be what splits the X-Men up. I don't see anything else, with the way the story is going, that would split them up.

Somehow I think the Warren thing might have to do w/ his business or maybe Harpoon pins him to a wall again.

Definitely. Like, for ONCE everyone teamed up and the whole cast banging in through the ceiling of Muir Island last issue was like, "OH SHIT!!! LOOK MA, X-MEN!!!"

Something BIG is going down next issue. I can't see them just collapsing after everyone getting together finally.

That's a nice theory, and I could really see the X-Men split up if he died.

I'm glad Angel is back, can't wait to see what is haunting him.

Re: Rogue--

It sounds like Carey was able to do what Milligan and Bendis was unable to do: Give her a blank slate. Tabula rasa, as it was. I'm happy with this change, but I wonder about her Ms. Marvel powers. Does that mean they are completely gone as well?

And why is Marvel spoiling things ONE week before the "big" conclusion to the crossover?

Bendis didn't want to do that. He wanted her to perma-absorb Genis-Vell during House of M and retain those powers once everything returned to normal. Marvel didn't want her with poweset similar to Ms. Marvel again.

Warren mixed up in Purifiers business. Either The Purifiers become even more major players in the post-MC X-Universe, or Warren joins X-Force. I'm hoping it's the former rather than the latter, because he will *die* in X-Force and in Yost's/Kyle's hands. Here's to hoping he ends up Carey's book after the Legacy arcs are done.

Agreed. Betsy is going to the airport (or something like that) and Xavier asks if Gambit isn't cold as they're seeing her taxi go outside the mansion. He says he's freezing but McCoy doesn't let him smoke inside anymore. Then he says he needs to talk to Charles about Rogue and Bella Donna and they go inside, whit Gambit throwing his cigar on the ground and Xavier calling on it like he was a kid.

I'm assuming this is aimed at me...How about telling us over and over how she always dies, making her look like bully to justify an affair, having her die a tragically pointless death and then having her magically make her husband make out with his mistress on her grave. Not exactly what I'd call a real big help to the character. He wrote her brilliantly for his entire run before that and then butchered her. Literally. As in dead. Sure, fine.

Notice how they refer The cuckoos as Emma's students and not her daughters.

And? They're still her daughters. No matter how craptastic that was.

Lets all just forget Warsong. It's uminportant. It's still continuity but the less we remember it, the better.

I think it can only be Cameron Hodge. It's not like Warren has a bunch of old subplots and arch-enemies hanging.

And with Cameron comes a sweet possibility of Candy.

Yeah...okay likely not, but it does leave a small crack from a comeback or some good flashbacks.

I'm interested to see where this goes with Warren regardless...his character needs some more interest.

Hmm I was going to say that it's good that Marvel refer them as her students and not her daughters.

yes but someone would have to follow up on that plot in some way. you don't just start addressing it with throwaway lines

scott: "oh emma we'll get your daughters to use cerebra for us"
emma: "rock on"

'tis true. I'm still waiting for some sort of closure on that, so that I don't think it ends like it did. It's one of those cliffhangers where I know it's gonna be a trainwreck, however it turns out, but I still wanna watch it.

Anyone who didn't know the Cuckoos were Emma's daughters just wasn't paying attention.

They've reverted to their "current writer does v. little with Super telepaths" status.

No, anyone that thought that they were Emma's daughters, or related to her, wasn't paying attention and lost the point entirely. They were a comment on how impressionable youth is and how obsessive they can be in follow and copy their idols. The Cuckoos were the equivalent of the teenage girls that try to dress and act like Cristina Aguilera, Beyonce, Britney Spears, and so on.

I'm sure we'll get another pointless and crappy Phoenix miniseries soon.

Isn't that what the new Cable book is about. Baby Jean in the future. :D

I know the baby isn't Jean.
